I’m from Illinois, and very particular about my soul food. I’ve been living in St. Louis for almost four years, and had yet to find a good black owned soul food restaurant until a friend took me to Jaden’s. Everyone behind the counter kept saying how I would be back because it was my first time. Boy was they telling the truth. Food is fresh, and those beautiful black queens do not be coming to play in that kitchen!!! Thank you ladies. I love how none of the food is over seasoned and you can dress it up anyway that suits YOUR taste buds. I’ve yet to be disappointed I’ve visited at least five times now❤️ During the aftermath of the tornado they fed the neighborhood with full course meals for free for weeks! Last Sunday was my first time ever, being that I’ve been in St. Louis almost 30 yrs. The people were very nice and the food was delish!! It was very reasonably priced for the portion size. I will definitely be going back. FYI go early before the church folks get out of service.

I don’t understand. Since Ms. Mary been gone the food is a hit and Miss. But Sunday they keep a crowd coming. Don’t know. What they’re buying. But I did enjoy the short ribs and the greens were good. The turkey legs no the Mac/ chesse no. The dressing. I guess! The black eye pea no. The sweet potato. Okay. The green bean. Hell no. The pork chop. Was okay. The cakes!! Nice place to enjoy a great dinner, TV, and plenty of parking on street and parking lot. Those oxtail delicious, pork chops crisp and tender and the dressing like my own! The dessert are so yummy, apple pie, sweet potato pie and coconut cake….yes! Our first time going, they gave us a free meal and dessert FREE!

It has been a few years since I’ve dined at Jadens. Today I decided to stop buy and get a plate. OMG! After several years Jadens has not missed a beat. The food is still very delicious as in the past. I was overly satisfied and pleased. The beef rib tips were tender and flavorful. The greens and black eyed peas were delectable. Corn bread was great. I am full and will definitely return. Nice size portions as well. Thanks Jadens

So disappointed in this soul food restaurant not only was the food so bland and tasteless, the neighborhood was horrible first time I been afraid to get out my car But I managed I got turkey wing, sweet potatoes and dressing how do u mess up soul food? The dressing was like eating bread with gravy on top no taste it looked like dressing but it taste like a blob of nothing the turkey wing was tender but it had no taste, the only thing that was half way decent was the sweet potatoes, it was a waste of 12bucks I will never go back here again (to the tasteless soul food restaurant ) I Do Not recommend this restaurant the food was awful and the neighborhood unsafe go at your own risks is all I will say

I bought 2 plates. One with turkey legs and the other with rib tips. Even though the meat of the turkey fell off the bone, the meat was bland! No seasoning. Even with the gravy on the rice. The sweet potatoes were ok! No cinnamon, nutmeg, or extra sweetness.
The rib tips were tough. After chewing for a while, I just had to sit it to the side. One thing that was good was the sauce that the rib tips were in. The greens were canned. You can have canned greens, but doctor it up with some neck bones, ham hocks, or something! I’m not sure if the potatoes were instant, but they were blah as well! One thing that saved the meal is the jiffy cornbread.
All I know is looks are deceiving!

Very nice people, but the food wasn’t great. They give hefty portions. But the fried chicken barely had any breading on it and the yams were flavorless and had way too much butter. I won’t return unfortunately.
