The restaurant is tiny. But being from NY you know that those little ones are always the better ones! And you don’t go here to eat. You go here to take the eats with you. If you are looking for some great Chinese Cuisine, your tastebuds will be very satisfied. Try their house made mustard and plum sauce (moo shoo sauce). Try their bbq pork fried rice and definitely the egg rolls (warchbout if you have a peanut allergy)

I looked at the menu that came up on Google. Said pot stickers were $5.95, I thought finally a restaurant who understands. Got there the pot stickers were $10.87. They were the most tasteless pot stickers I have ever had. Opened the fortune cookie and what was in there was a slice of a piece of paper and I mean a slice. The whole order not worth the money. And I brought it up when I went to pick up my food, she didn’t offer me anything. I also showed her the menu I saw.

It’s a very cute hole in the wall (seating for maybe 10? Via those small little booths for 2)
I wanted to like the food more, I really did
But it was bland and was not worth the price, even for a lunch special
The vegetables were oily and watery and the noodle dish I got had almost no flavor. It’s my standard order at new Chinese restaurants I try and this was the worst I’ve had
I really wanted it to be better but honestly the food wasn’t good

Veg egg rolls are so good. Real Chicago egg rolls with peanut butter. Fan of the veg entrees as well. It’s my go to Chinese in highland park.

Update:
We tried again, we had fried rice and an entree, unfortunately food was terrible. Downgrading…

We were skeptical to try this place given the poor reviews based on service and food.
We rolled the dice and just had chicken fried rice and Singapore noodles for lunch today. We were reasonably satisfied with the taste and quality.
Although fried rice was bit too oily and bit salty overall the flavor was good. Not the typical flavor less rice you get in my most places.
Singapore noodles were barely ok. A bit too dry and lack of flavor. I feel they are bit pricey for the quantity and quality.

Ordered delivery directly on their site during Covid. Within a minute of submitting the order, the restaurant called me to get clarification on a request I made. Delivery was quick. Food was very good. Spicy Lamb had great flavor but could have been spicier. Everything was excellent.

Delivery was made 15 minutes earlier than I asked. Just doorbell ring and found food sitting on my porch, no delivery driver in site. Egg rolls are not the best, but not the worst I’ve had. Ordered Mongolian beef which was immediately put down the garbage disposal, it was flavorless and sitting in a pool of water. Also Ordered Sesame Chicken, it was horrible, no white meat to be found anywhere. I threw out all the food and went to Portillos. Don’t order from here, 42 dollars wasted. Only 1 container for rice for 2 entrees.
