I love jade cafe, but I recent had a poor experience 8/7/23 I had a sweet and sour chicken with rice. I ate some rice and immediately felt a discomfort in my mouth that made me wash out my mouth. I ended up going to the emergency room because of the discomfort in my throat and fail taste in my mouth won’t go away. I love jade, I will not take legal action, but definitely I can’t eat there anymore. That’s the part that makes me sad. I hope who ever reads this, you’ll never have an experience like mines.

I went with my partner to go eat on 4/22/23 around 2:50pm. So we walked in and sat down . And the next minute, we are getting yelled at by the server across the room. And he was having an attitude, while telling us they are closed. Because the chef was out. We didn’t know that because on the door it said open and there were families already in there eating. So me and my partner just automatically left. I never felt so embarrassed in my life. Completely unprofessional to scream at customers for no reason.

The menu on site reads that any purchase $35 you get a free chowmain or fried rice. I asked after paying for my $38 meal and was told its $40. I said ok lets add some drinks make it $40 she then looks at me and says no its not free. Maybe my asking for what they’re falsely advertising upset them because the food here is normally decent but today it was undercooked, salty and it felt like they did something to it so I stopped eating it after a bite.

Be careful what you order. I got the “beef with tender greens and pan fried noodles”, and it was awful. Noodles were ultra dry and flavorless. The sauce tasted like powdered gravy. It is relatively cheap, but that is the only redeeming quality.

I pass by this place daily on my way to and from work. Thought I’d stop in and give it a try for takeout. Order the beef and broccoli. The beef was way over tenderize almost unrecognizable as beef to my tooth, the chew was almost absent . Much like they left it in the corn starch too long, it was almost soft and mushy. There is no quality control coming out of that kitchen. Will not go back there again. I will continue to walk past there to and from work. And if I were you, I would walk past there also. Far too many other good Chinese restaurants in the city to have to make the mistake of eating there again.
