Went with a recommendation from the walking tour and it did not disappoint! Casual eatery with fresh seafood and a relaxed vibe.

We enjoyed the halibut fish and chips more than the cod — the halibut was crisp and flavorful, while the cod tasted a little fishy. The Dungeness crab, cooked to order, was sweet, meaty, and easy to eat from the shell. It cost about US$50, which we felt was reasonable for the freshness and portion.

The oysters were another highlight — small but very sweet and fresh, and the clam chowder was rich and comforting. Self-service style: order, collect, and find your own seat.

It’s all about the location. It’s lunch time and they claim to have the freshest seafood. Its a seafood retail shop that sells food. But what they sell is pretty fresh, and kinda expensive for what you get. But its rhe location and the experience of eating here.

We ordered 6 oysters, dungeness crab (MP), fish (cod) and chips and a bowl of clam chowder.

The clam chowder was the standout. Perfect. Not to salty. Not too buttery.

Dungeness crab was both expensive and dare I say “not fresh.” We steam live dungeness crab during crab season and so I know that this was a dead crab for days/weeks.

Oysters were fresh- small but fresh.

Fish & chips- the fish/cod was fresh, but small portions. The French fries were soggy-not good.

Last comment: Good luck finding a place to sit down. It’s public seating wherever you can find it.

Oyster is nice but Big disappointment on Crab. Over cooked, not fresh. Crab meat should taste sweet but this one is plain and dry. The owner should taste their own food first. It’s worse than microwave food. What a waste!

Got the 3-piece cod fish n chips for $12-something. It looked pretty small at first, but the portion is plenty filling and fitting for it’s price. It was okayy – not the best, not the worst. I prefer my fries to be at least a bit crispy, but these were quite soggy. The fish was fresh and well cooked, about what you’d typically expect however a bit too plain for my taste.
Overall, I visited this place just because it’s known for it’s seafood & fish n chips. If you’re coming just to give this dish a try for a relatively reasonable price in a known Seattle spot, it should do the job (although may be a tad bit underwhelming).

The best clam chowder I’ve ever had. $9 for a large bowl. Far exceeds other clam chowders in Seattle/California/Boston. The chowder inspired me to write a review. Creamy, lots of high quality clams, good potato ratio. Also, cheaper oysters than other pike place locations. Easy to grab and then eat at the waterfront overview.

You want just some good food and a great chowder (a little thick the way I like it). Therefore, go over to the Sanitary Market and get a satisfying real Seattle seafood, this is you place.

Clam chowder had great flavor but almost no clam. The salmon was overcooked and dry, and the Ahi Tuna was 2x overcooked and dry. The sauce was good on the tuna. The fries were okay, the broccoli had no seasoning. Overall, wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

Me and my wife came into Seattle for a concert on Saturday and decided to check out the market and scope out things before the day. We decided since we are from Boise Idaho we would try some fish and chips since we knew it would be fresh so we chose Jack’s. It was very very good, the cod was cooked excellent and the fries were amazing. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back.
