We ordered takeout for lunch, got the Hawaiian combo plate with poi!

Portions were good, and the laulau is super yummy! Very meaty and leaner than other laulaus yet still juicy. The laulau was my favorite! Chicken long rice and kalua pig were also great. Definitely will order from here again!

recently visited Jackie’s Diner, and it turned out to be a dependable neighborhood diner that captures the comfort and familiarity people expect from classic local breakfast and lunch spots. Located along Kamehameha Highway in Aiea, the restaurant has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that feels very much like a community gathering place. The space is straightforward and comfortable, with the kind of casual environment where regular customers and first-time visitors can both feel at ease.

The menu focuses on classic diner-style comfort food, with a strong emphasis on breakfast favorites and hearty plate-style meals. Items such as omelets, pancakes, fried rice, and other traditional diner staples make up much of the selection. The portions are generous and designed to be filling, which is typical of local diners that serve both residents and workers looking for a satisfying meal to start the day.

One of the highlights of the meal was the breakfast selection. The eggs were cooked properly, the pancakes had a light texture, and the savory dishes carried the familiar flavors that define classic diner cooking. While the presentation is simple, the focus is clearly on delivering consistent comfort food rather than elaborate plating.

Service during the visit was friendly and efficient. The staff maintained a welcoming attitude and helped keep the dining room moving at a comfortable pace. Diners like this often succeed because of their sense of familiarity and hospitality, and Jackie’s Diner maintains that approachable atmosphere well.

Another appealing aspect of the restaurant is the sense of community it creates. Many local diners become regular meeting places for residents, and Jackie’s appears to have that same role in the Aiea neighborhood. The environment encourages relaxed conversation and unhurried meals, which adds to the overall experience.

Overall, Jackie’s Diner delivers a solid and satisfying diner experience with dependable comfort food, generous portions, and welcoming service. It is the kind of place people return to for familiar flavors and a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere.

Nice little strip mall diner. Found this place after another local spot down the street didn’t work out. I’m SO glad that we found it. It was meant to be. Kind, quick service, and excellent food. Tried a variety of items, all of which were good. The only item that fell a little short for us was the mac salad, but that’s only because we felt it was heavy on the mayo, but that’s also subjective. If we’re back in the area, we would definitely return. Recommend to any visitors looking to try some local favs and traditional HI foods. The staff was very sweet and took the time to answer our food questions.

Ordered takeout after walking up and down the area. We couldn’t decide on what to get so we got a bunch of food. All of it was delicious.

The poke bowls were our favorite. Everything in it went so well together and the portion sizes were perfect per person!

The kalbi was tender and tasty. The Mac salad was made with spaghetti noodles. That was a first for me. I liked it a lot. It’s a bit pricy but the portion sizes and flavor made it worth it. They taped everything down for our drive home. Wish we were closer, I could go for another one of their poke bowls!

Went there from a recommendation and glad I went there. The service was great and also the food. I ordered the tripe stew and it really tasted like how my mom used to make it. I ate and drank the soup to the last drop.

I love this place! My parents used to take us when we were keiki. When I moved away from home it was the worst, I missed the food and that one waitress who’s been there since forever, she was always so nice and always had the biggest smile! I recently went back, and everything was exactly the same, the food was still great as always, and aunty was still waiting tables. I love this place and I always look forward to going back!

If you’re looking for ono (delicious) Hawaiian and local food, then Jackie’s is the spot! My go to dish is the Pastele Plate ($19), fruit punch, and a side of Haupia for dessert. I dream of the pastele plate- it comes with either hot or mild pastele, bacalao salad, macaroni salad, and rice. It’s the most amazing thing you’ll ever eat! The restaurant itself is a local, rustic diner, with wonderful local hospitality! Happy Eats ✌️
