Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill is a casual local’s joint featuring fresh seafood, steaks, pasta and a variety of salads at affordable prices. After 12 years of success in Kona this stunning restaurant space in the Historic Kaikodo building “spoke to us”! This Hilo landmark was built in 1907 as the Hilo Masonic Lodge Hall and was the original home to the Bank of Hilo. To this day there’s a classic old bank vault and an incredible crafted 150 year English bar inside the restaurant. We invite you to be our guests and experience great food and old fashioned hospitality, island style. This was a delightful lunch. We were hungry, so only got picture of one of the three. The crispy short ribs were a definite mush have! The fish tacos were so fresh! The shrimp scampi was very tasty. Caramel our server was so sweet and helpful.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Jackie Rey’s Hilo, located in the historic part of Hilo and just a short distance from the waterfront! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck a wonderful balance between elegance and comfort, creating a refined dining atmosphere without any stuffiness. It is in an old bank and vault remains.
The cocktails were a highlight—creative and delicious, each one perfectly complementing our meal. I ordered the steak, which was incredible and perfectly prepared to my liking; it was tender and packed with flavor. The salads were also fantastic, fresh and vibrant, showcasing high-quality ingredients. The burgers that went by us looking amazing!
The quality of the food was exceptional, and I was pleasantly surprised by the great prices for such high standards. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our visit. Plus, street parking was easy to find.
