We recently stopped into **Jack Rose Social Club** for a drink and an appetizer, and it turned into a great experience. As soon as we looked over the menu, it was clear choosing would be difficult because everything sounded delicious and thoughtfully curated. After some debate, we ordered the mussels and paired them with a Tom Collins, which proved to be an excellent match.
The mussels were the highlight of our visit. We had never tried mussels prepared in a creamy tomato based sauce before, but this unique approach worked beautifully. The sauce was rich yet balanced and complemented the natural briny flavor of the mussels without overpowering them. The Tom Collins added a bright citrus note that helped cut through the creaminess and kept the dish feeling fresh and satisfying.
Access from the parking garage was simple thanks to clear signage directing guests to a first floor entrance. Entering this way made it easy to find the restaurant, though locating the host stand inside was slightly challenging due to the busy and crowded atmosphere. Once we found it, we were seated quickly and the service felt smooth despite the lively environment.
The space features an industrial railroad rustic design with a subtle speakeasy influence that adds character and warmth. It was fairly loud, but in an energetic and social way, and we were still able to enjoy a comfortable conversation across the table.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit and look forward to returning. During the summer months its location near the Levitt makes it an ideal spot to relax with food and drinks while still enjoying the music.

Update Jack Rose. steel district location

Updated to my previous review. Went back and had bad service all around. Came up to the host stand. I think we waited about three minutes before being sat, which is weird because the place was dead servers bartenders. Everyone was just watching the game. I was sat at the booth next to the bar and I had two people actually touch my table with their hand, not saying anything or asking us anything. We waited probably 15 minutes before we could even do our drink order. The only people in the restaurant a few people at the bar. I was finally able to order off the menu. I would say the The cheeseboard was good. The presentation was kind of crazy with the crackers in the bowl. The fried mushrooms were terrible. We could not get the taste out of our mouth. It was definitely a zero out of 10. The risotto was good. The salmon was good. However, I’m giving the food still three stars because although the presentation wasn’t good for the cheeseboard, it was a good choice. I previously had had their oysters and they are the best I’ve had in town.

Original review – had an absolutely amazing experience here the first time I came My bartender, Kate, was phenomenal. She was personable, chatty, and genuinely engaging. I really appreciated the conversation while sitting at the bar. It was my first time here, and great service goes such a long way.

I ordered a couple drinks from their cocktail menu and was super impressed with the presentation everything looked beautiful and tasted just as good. I also ordered the oysters and was impressed by the size and how fresh they were. On top of that, I got to try the $10 burger, which was so good and absolutely worth ordering. (Rate oysters here best downtown)

This is the best restaurant experience I’ve had in Sioux Falls! Thank you to Ash for the amazing service and suggestions. She was so knowledgeable and helpful. The food was so fresh and I highly recommend the Nashville Hot fried chicken sandwich if you like something very spicy! The restaurant was very comfortable, and the decor was unique. The prices are very reasonable and you’re definitely getting your money’s worth for the atmosphere/food/service. I posted a photo of the menu so you can see the prices. Definitely will be back to visit Jack Rose Social Club!

Wow! What a great addition to downtown and The Steel District! My husband’s company was invited down so 7 of us were able to make it on a short notice and it was a great experience. From the appetizer selections to the entrees to the desserts…there is something for everyone! Our server, Shandy, was personable and funny. Our meals were perfection! And with only three desserts they nailed it. They don’t need any more on the menu because what is there will more than satisfy one’s sweet tooth. The atmosphere didn’t miss a beat. I’d say a lot of thought was put into both the interior and exterior. Take the time to look around and see the well thought out details. And wait until you see the beautiful bathrooms!! Thanks to everyone who was involved in bringing a second Jack Rose Social Club and placing it downtown. Now for a third one on the east side.

We had such a good time at Jack Rose! This was my 3rd time there, but it wasn’t super busy so we got to stay for quite a while to really enjoy it. Our Server, Mariah, was attentive and so personable, I very much enjoyed our time there and she was so great. We tried the gnocchi trio (which were fantastic and cooked perfectly!), escargot (I’m not a fan, but my more cultured partner in crime said they were fantastic), the fish and chips, and the social club dip with a side of mushroom risotto. The risotto was the star of the show, probably the best I’ve ever had. The drinks were perfect and well thought out – we will definitely be going back again, so impressed!

Jack Rose Social Club recently opened a new location in downtown Sioux Falls and it has been our go-to recently. It gets busy around the 5PM hour so get their early if you prefer a spot outdoors or a booth. Happy Hour M-F from 3-6PM.

Appetizer and Entree – decided to go with the old reliable KC Hog Wings which comes with pickled onions and also cucumber. Goes well with either ranch or blue cheese dip. I have had this dish numerous times at the first location on 69th St and also at the new location downtown in the Steel District. The flavor and tenderness of the meat is always…on point. Cooking hog wings is tricky since you can easily overcook the meat but they have it perfected. We have also tried the Rose Burger – you wouldn’t think that friend onions and bacon jam would go great together but they pulled it off. One other food item that we have tried was the Steak Alfredo. The medium rare steak was done to perfection.

Drinks – Two fun cocktails that we tried -The Blush Bubbles and the Jack Rose. Both are fun drinks to watch as the server delivers the drink to your table. You almost don’t want to drink it. Wide selection of beers on tap. Shiner Bock was our choice. If you are looking for a dark beer such as Guinness, they do have it available in can.

PROS
– Large and diverse menu
– Great appetizer options if you are looking to have a light meal
– Good tap beer selection
– Great outdoor seating. Love the fireplace
– Located downtown in the Steel District which is within walking distance to the Falls

CONS
– Not a huge con but parking is limited so I would recommend parking on Phillips Ave.

Man I love this place. The mocktails are delicious, I got the blood orange mockarita and added a shot of THC and it was SO GOOD! Our server was also perfect! I didn’t catch her name, but she was blonde and made ordering so smooth and easy! We started with the fried grilled cheese and the fried mushrooms- my only complaint being the mushrooms lacking flavor in the mushroom itself, but the batter was great and they were so crispy! The fried grilled cheese was perfect, and the tomato basil soup on the side was a wonderful pairing. For my main I got the fish and chips, which I’ve tried from many places but these stood out! The fish itself was juicy, flakey, and complimented the crunchy batter PERFECTLY. The fried were also crispy and just salty enough (get the ranch, it’s so so so good.)

Overall a great experience. I work at a restaurant downtown as well and I know how difficult it can be in the beginning- you guys are killing it!

Went there on a weekday during lunch time. Wasn’t super busy. Nice upscale environment. Got seated immediately and server was prompt all around. Food was a little speedy, but these days, what isn’t? I had a delicious chicken sandwich with pineapple coleslaw. My guest got a chicken bacon sandwich. Sandwhiches were massive. Side of mashed potatoes was a bit on the light side. Had never heard of this place until we spotted it on our way to another restaurant. Glad we stopped!
