Because they share a building, the inside dining room is also smaller than some in the chain. I’ve sometimes come here just because traffic is less than trying to get to other locations in the area.
In this last year, having made several visits, I can see the management has made noticeable improvements from a couple of years ago. Everything appears clean, the clerk has been friendly, they have gotten my orders right, and the food has been fresh and on par with the others.
You can order with the app, online, at the kiosk, or at the counter. I didn’t want to stop to use the app, so I ordered at the counter for some take-out. When I was handed my order (calling me by name), I was told there was no marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks – that would have been good to know when I placed the order.
The drinks are dispensed from one large dispenser that has a touch screen to choose your beverage of choice. I am not fond of their choices, as most contain way too much sugar, artificial flavors, and / or tons of food coloring, so I chose the Minute Maid lemonade.
One thing I appreciate is that breakfast is served all day. So, in case you prefer an egg and cheese biscuit for dinner, it can be done. Their menu has more variety than most burger fast food places. In fact, despite the vast number of taquerias in the Valley with great and in many cases authentic tacos, one of Jacks most sold items is their tacos… sold 2 for $1.69, a tortilla filled with what seems to be a spread of beans and ground beef, fried, then stuffed with some American cheese, a few shreds of lettuce, and a dab of salsa… hardly Mexican, but delicious! I admit, I like them.
You can also order egg rolls, grilled sandwiches, salads, chicken sandwiches. Oh, and, if you dare, try their curly fries… they are addictive.
This entire corner is being developed, so across from Jacks there is a beautiful new Murphy USA gas station and convenience store. Catty corner from Jacks is a Whataburger. Across Closner (Bus. 281) is the Junior Supermarket and small shopping center including a McDonald’s, Little Caesars, Church’s Chicken and a new Starbucks. North Edinburg is growing up! Perhaps that’s why this Jacks has improved their performance.
lonely just like McDonald’s and Whataburger. These guys have a bit of a focus in the back area but I suppose they do address you a little bit better than McDonald’s I suppose Whataburger is doing good on that aspect at times
