I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever dealt with at this Jack-in-the-Box on Fondren Rd in Missouri City, TX. I ordered food through the drive-thru around 4:30 AM and paid cash. When I got home — which is literally right next door in the apartments — I opened the bag and saw that my food was ice cold, and the bread hadn’t even been toasted.
I went right back to the store within minutes, only to be told by the manager on duty that he “didn’t know how to process a cash refund.” Instead, he told me I’d have to call a number to get my money back — even though I had just left, had the food with me, and clearly paid in cash. He then refused to remake the food, refused to refund me, and kept both my food and my money.
I ended up waiting in the drive-thru for nearly 2 hours, hoping the situation would be handled properly. It wasn’t — until the next shift started at 6:00 AM. A Hispanic employee came to the window, heard what happened, and without hesitation gave me a full refund. She was kind, professional, and the only person that showed basic respect.
The fact that I had to wait that long and practically beg to get my money back — over a cold meal — is completely unacceptable. The manager didn’t just show poor customer service — he acted like he didn’t care at all and just wanted me to go away. If it weren’t for the next shift stepping up, I would’ve left empty-handed.
Corporate will definitely be hearing about this, and I hope this location gets better leadership — because that manager should not be representing your brand.
