Back for my second visit to JY Bamboo and it’s just as good as the first time! Everything is consistently delicious. I ordered the Pad Thai and the egg rolls—both were absolutely tasty and hit the spot. If you’re in Dayton and looking for great food, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

My family has been eating here for years, both in person and ordering takeout. There’s been a bit of a decline in the spice in recent years- which is fine enough. However my most recent order had a chunk of metal brillo pad in one of my entrées, and I don’t think I’ll ever order again. I had to cough it up. Could have been a more dangerous turnout, especially if it was a child eating. I really can’t recommend anyone eat here anymore.

Food was great. I ordered General Tso’s. It turned out great and really nice people working here. Been here for a long time and never disappointed and good sushi also.

I visited J Y Bamboo Restaurant with a friend back in May 2025, and overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant is located right on N Broad St in Fairborn, and it gives off a cozy, welcoming vibe. I believe it’s family-owned, or at least it feels that way because the staff was extremely kind, attentive, and friendly throughout our visit.

The restaurant was very clean, and that’s always something I look for and appreciate when trying a new place. We were seated quickly, and the service was fast, which made it a convenient stop for a lunch outing.

As for the food, everything I tried was delicious, though I can’t remember every single item I ordered. What stood out the most was the quality of their dishes—everything tasted fresh, and the textures were on point. Their crab rangoon was especially tasty: perfectly crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I also ordered some sushi, and it was well-prepared with a nice presentation and great taste.

One thing I wasn’t a big fan of was the soup. Since I don’t eat pork or beef, my options were limited, and I didn’t enjoy the one I tried. That said, my friend really enjoyed their soup, so I’d say it just comes down to personal preference and dietary restrictions.

They also had crispy, refreshing drinks, which added to the overall dining experience. While J Y Bamboo might not be my absolute first choice for a lunch spot, I’m glad I gave it a try. I’d definitely consider going back, especially for the sushi and crab rangoon. It’s a solid local option with good food, fast service, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Made a return trip specifically for the sushi. Ordered the Rainbow roll and the Ocean roll. Both were great and worth a try. The freshness was evident in the taste and the Rainbow roll was consistent and just as good as the first time I ordered one a week ago. The Ocean was topped with a crab salad while maintaining a very light texture making it a pleasure to eat.

Yes, I ordered the crab Rangoon for a second time. We received our order piping hot, just out of the fryer in a perfectly golden brown. The flavor was consistent with the first time I ordered the appetizer a week ago. The establishment has many different Asian offerings to select from. I will return to try some of those dishes.

CHECK YOU ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE!! We love the food here! The service is amazing and the friendliness is great! The friendliness is where it gets you! Talking with the staff and you forget to check the bag! First strike: mistaken “wonton soup” for “big white rice”. They were super nice and fixed that. Free large wonton. Ordered SHRIMP curry… got chicken curry. Didn’t check the curry before we left, my fault, but now I have no dinner except white rice. This is not the first time they have forgotten or given the wrong takeout order. My fault for not checking. Make sure you check your bag and confirm everything is correct!

The food was amazing but what took it to the next level was the service. The waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back soon!

They overcharged my card and put me in the negative. I transferred $15 into my venmo account to pay for my lunch. My total was $10 and some change. I left $4 and the rest of the change to make it an even $15. Im a server of 5+ years. Im meticulous with my tip math. They tipped themselves almost $1 more than I wrote *clearly* and I was overdrafted by $0.12.

Firstly, the service was stellar.
Still, I ordered two appetizers, two rolls, and water. I mustered through 90% of an absolute over fried, tasteless (or old grease tasting), soggy roll meal. The paste and ginger were tasteless. How? I didn’t even waste my time on the water.
He joked that I had a big appetite. I was going to eat that $47 because it took me an hour to make it.
Constructive criticism. The cigarette smell is horrendous. Please find an alternative if you’ll be in closed quarters with patrons.
