We drove up to Loess National Wildlife Refuge to see the eagles. On our drive back to KC, we stopped in Oregon, MO at a little hole in the wall restaurant as we like to do.
Being the BPT connoisseur that I am, I had to indulge for lunch. Delicious! Lacey, one of the sisters, brought out this amazing sample of pure deliciousness! The breading is thin, crunchy, and very well seasoned. The meat was very tender & juicy. I ordered a side of regular (shoestring style) fries and they were fresh, crispy & hot.
Overall, I give this BPT a 9/10. The perfect pairing would have been Pullmans mustard or Dukes mayo.
Lacey and the rest of the staff were very welcoming , friendly, and talkative. They know a lot of the patrons by name & saw they knew people’s order when they walked in the door. They have a good thing going here!
The restaurant is very neat & clean. They offer booth and/or table settings & the dining room was well lit and had some quirky decorations.
You should stop in sometime, I promise, it’s worth it!

What a small town hidden gem. Small menu but great food. Just a very friendly place. The owner and cook had to run to the store quick so the locals grabbed some coffee quick for us! She was back within a minute so don’t be concerned it was a big delay. It wasn’t.
Had the Omelet like “Troy” likes it. Named after a local guy named Troy.
Great eggs, meat and hashbrowns. Omelet had chunks of ham and sausage. Delicious.

Nice little diner for breakfast! If it’s busy, you might have to wait a little bit for your food but the stamp is nice and the pancakes were worth it, reasonable pricing as well.

The waitress was super kind. The food was delicious. Although the place could have been a little bit cleaner. I did not have to wait for a table which was amazing. I would definitely come back.

Fantastic, true from scratch cooking Laughter and good natured conversation HIGHLY recommend the pork tenderloin special. Worth your little scenic short trip from the interstate. Better mashed potatoes and gravy than l make and lm a fairly good cook.
