J Anthony’s is a must-visit if you’re in the mood for great seafood and comfort food!
The fish is always fresh and perfectly seasoned, but don’t sleep on the chicken tenders—they’re huge, crispy, and packed with flavor.
You definitely get your money’s worth here. The portions are generous, the sides are delicious, and everything comes out hot and fresh.
The staff is friendly and welcoming, creating a laid-back, family-style atmosphere.
Whether you’re craving fried fish, shrimp, or some hearty chicken tenders, J Anthony’s hits the spot every time. It’s one of our favorite places to eat in San Antonio!

This place keeps cutting corners charging more $ for less quality food.
The soup use to be the Best. It had plenty of fish and flavorful… now it’s lacking in everyway… Stop changing the recipes… And use cod… idk what the fish is but it’s mushy and gross.
Won’t be back.

It was rather small. The caldo de pescado was wonderful and the rice is a nice peppery addition to the soup. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t serve a chalupa shell with the caldo. The SE Military location does. The Pepsi zero was wonderful with the spicey soup.

I Love J’s Anthony’s but this location by far is the Filthiest. From the Dirty Window seals, Dusty Blinds, & The Noticable Mold On The Ice Machine, I Couldn’t Even Enjoy My Lunch. Never Again.

Feels like your usual nautical theme seafood place but they’re my favorite. Love the fried fish and chicken fried steak is big. I’m also a big fan of the rice and fish caldo.

Our food was very good and hot. The fish and shrimp platter was delicious and got me a leftover plate to take home. Restart was clean and everything in order. Also had some of the homemade cake.

The bread was hard. Please add some salt to the fish.

07-16-18. Well done. This place has good sea food. They have fried, grilled or baked fish. They have a good verity on the menu. I had the salmon. It was good. My wife had chicken strips lol. She doesn’t like sea food. I got the sampler plate for my 4yr old. He enjoyed it. He only ate one fish out of the three. The fish were grilled. The green beans had just enough spice to it. Grandma ordered the shrimp cocktail. It’s good portion. She still wanted more lol. I let her have the last of my Salmon and she ate the three shrimp from my 4ry old plate. Lol. My 19yr old had three fish. I think it was catfish. It was breaded. I drank lemonade. It was tasty. Overall it was good. If we’re in the area well go back.
