Service was amazing
Food was delicious
We got the :
Candied bacon – was good.
Brisket tacos- delicious. I would have preferred extra pickled onions and whatever kind of tomato sauce was on it
Pastrami sandwich – it comes with Cole slaw. That had no issues switching it out for fries. I think if the pastrami was sliced thinner and still stacked as high would have enjoyed it more.
Burger- really good. I prefer my burgers well done. And it was amazingly delicious and not dry.
French fries out of this world delish!
Firstly, I’m used to going to the NY location back when I used to live there and just a block away!
This location in Aventura is completely different. It’s big, it has atmosphere and the minute you walk in, the smoky wood smell hits you in the best way possible. They also have a beer and wine bar.
But let’s talk about the food! I’ll go through each dish we tried because they each deserve that kind of recognition.
The Pulled Beef fries:
The pulled beef was rich with flavor and you can never go wrong with some dirty fries. We would absolutely order it again!
The pulled beef empanadas:
I know what you’re thinking, we don’t need two pulled beef dishes. Think again! The filling is so rich with flavor and everyone in our party was left impressed. My daughter hogged it all.
Wood-fired Grilled eggplant:
Omg this dish alone deserves an award. As an avid eggplant fan I was drooling over it. They smoke the eggplant and then top it with Tehina and honey, that perfect mix of savory and sweet mixed with the smokiness hit so right. They also served it with smoky charred bread and that combination was absolutely perfect. 10/10. My husband and sister in law who was with me aren’t eggplant fans, and even they enjoyed it!
The Charred Beets:
This came with a vinegar dressing and while I’m not a fan of vinegar I still think the beets tasted bland. We asked the manager about it and he said since they just opened it didn’t hash time to marinate like it should have. So while it wasn’t a hit for us, I def think it probably could be when executed properly.
The Brisket:
This is an Izzy’s classic and not to be missed. The fat part melted like butter in our mouth.
The Minute Steak:
We were asked to try this potentially new menu item, and the minute I saw it I didn’t have much hope for it. To my surprise it was delightfully flavorful and cooked at the perfect temperature. 10/10
The Pastrami Sandwich:
This was the winner of the night. I don’t even know how to describe the richness and taste. It was just perfect. I’d go back to Miami just for this sandwich alone!
The Churros:
I’m constantly disappointed by churros in restaurants when they make it with no doughy middle. This had all the crispy outside, doughy inside goodness. It was excellent!
If they keep up this quality and flavor, this can easily be one of the top Kosher restaurants in Miami. I said what I said!
BBQ 1/2 Chicken was pretty good but the brisket was way too salty and burnt end was too hard to chew.
Do not order their sangria because the fruits seem very old and wine was low quality.
Not worth the money.
This is hands down the best smokehouse in south florida. Their brisket will 100% beat their competition. The other kosher smokehouses fail to serve soft, tender, warm brisket. I’ve gotten cold, hard, overcooked, obnoxiously thick sliced from the competitors. This place knows how to make a brisket and how to slice it. They were on point! The korean chicken was super crispy and flavorful. The smoked chicken sandwich was mind blowing. The beans were amazing, especially the hint of heat in it. The tacos, wooow, no words, just amazing. Next visit, I’m going all in! 10/10, they do it right here. This is my go to spot for now on for smoked meats.
And very nice service.
I would have payed for it double!
Lucky me I already paid. (;
