LOVE the salmon + cream cheese combo bagel. The bagels are so soft and the ratio of cream cheese to bagel is just right. Just heavenly with their smoked salmon too, though the salmon could be a little less salty. Lines not too long. Vibes are very good on California Ave, especially when the farmers market is nearby. Great pick for a casual weekend breakfast.

NY style Bagels day at Izzy’s bagel.. The bagels by itself were good (we had everything, multi seed and sesame bagels with raw red onions), but the cream cheese lacked flavor. We went with high hopes but the place didn’t hit the mark. The vegetable cream cheese in particular had a very gritty taste. The cucumber scallion cream cheese was my favorite. We also tried the jalapeno and chive cream cheese. They no longer sell roasted red pepper cream cheese. Might try again just to confirm. Disappointed customer . Service was decent but what would you expect from a NY style bagel place.. have to be quick even in California time is money.

Delicious bagel sandwiches along with a variety of traditional NY bagels accoutrements. Ordered a half dozen of the day old bagels, a tray of bagel chips, and the Hulk’s Protein Pack bagel sandwich.

Great bagel place, they serve quality bagels. We tried everything bagel, one with cream cheese and other with egg & cheese. I must say the bagels were soft and amazing in taste, we also tried cappuccino and their regular coffee and it was good. Their prices are reasonable and the service is quick. They have variety of bakery items but not a single gluten free option. Last, personally I felt that the welcoming nature towards the guests was missing, for someone coming in for the first time, they could suggest some options to try. Although, the bagels were great in taste, definitely coming back.

DELICIOUS. It had been an exhausting day and my family and I were starving, so we went to Izzy’s. I ordered a Gourmet Lox Bagel, and it was SO SO good. They had toasted the bagel and had added a warm cream cheese spread with the most fresh tomato I’ve ever tasted, and fresh lox. I can’t even describe how delicious it was, but everything was fresh and exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend.

Their bagels are amazing! I recommend getting their Lox Gourmet Bagel. They have a nice selection of different bagels. My favorites are the Sundried Tomato and the Egg Bagel.

How do you consistently mess up something as simple as coffee so badly? I just moved to the area and found this place along my commute. I was in a rush, catching busses, and dropped in for a coffee. The first one was great; cream, no sugar – perfectly executed. This excitement, however, did not last long. The 2nd day I went back for coffee (cream, no sugar), the poor guy apparently couldn’t find the half&half, so he tried his best to obscure what he was doing while he poured whole milk in my coffee. That’s fine with me, but you should probably let the customer know you don’t have half&half, and they can decide how to proceed. On the 3rd day, the girl bought my coffee to the counter, and announced it as “cream and sugar”, so I ignored her, as it clearly wasn’t my order. Then the cashier said, “that’s yours”. So I told her I asked for no sugar. She opens the lid, and sniffs the coffee (?!), and says, “there is no sugar”. The first sickeningly sweet sip betrayed her sniffer, as there was clearly some kind of sweetener. All of this I can deal with, because I am F-ing shameless, and I have no problem with stepping someone through every single motion of making my coffee in order to get it right. But today was the last straw. I asked for small coffee, cream, no sugar. The cashier clearly called out, “cafe chico, con crema”. The coffee girl failed to add the half&half, so the cashier came back with my coffee and a small paper bag and said, “I put the cream on the side.” Fine, I can add it myself. So, I’m dumping little containers of half&half in my coffee, and I take a sip, and it’s disgustingly sweet, and something is just really off with the coffee. I take another look at the containers in the bag, and they’re actually “International Delight” non-dairy creamer……..
