While the service is good, and the atmosphere is decent, and the food is OK end the cost is pretty high for what you get.
The chicken kebab plate is pretty expensive for just two strips of chicken and rice. The chicken itself is good, but the rice definitely could have used something to add more flavor. Even if it was some form of a hot sauce.
The chicken thighs on the à la carte menu are decent, but again there’s a little bit of flavor lacking.
Do not get the ribeye skewer. While it looks like a good price for five dollars, the meat itself barely covers the skewer. It is probably 1 to 2 ounces of meat.
Last, the mezze sampler is not worth it and very ok. For the price I expect a better quantity. Additionally, you only get two pieces of bread with the sampler. This is supposed to be something meant for sharing, and having only two pieces of bread is definitely not a sign of this.
Overall, I don’t recommend the spot as I think the food lacks flavor while the prices do not reflect the quality/quantity received.

We had an amazing experience at Izmir Restaurant in Irvine. The food truly tastes homemade and authentic, not like the mass-produced stuff you get at many places. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care.
Special thanks to the main chef Arzu Hanım, Doganay Bey, and Seda Hanım for the wonderful service and warm hospitality. They really make you feel welcome and taken care of, not rushed in and out like a fast-food operation.
They also have live music, which made the evening even more enjoyable and gave the place a great atmosphere. We had good food, good vibes, and a genuinely relaxing time.
If you want real homemade Turkish taste, don’t go anywhere else. This place is the real deal, and we will definitely come back again.

I have a new fave! I enjoyed the flavor of this food so much so that after having it for lunch for my first time I came back and had it for dinner. Then I tried the meatball sandwich, it was amazing and look how big that thing is I actually finished it but I needed a nap afterwards!

Our new favorite Mediterranean restaurant! We found this place on Yelp and the pictures made us come. Boy, were we not disappointed. This place pride’s itself on cleanliness and freshness and it shows. Everything was fresh and delicious. Their chicken was perfectly cooked, as was the rice. Their tea is amazing and their Baklava is to die for! They have a lot of take out business too. Do your belly a favor and come eat here!

Was nearby and the storefront caught my eye. Picked up combination of meatballs with potatoes and beef with potatoes, and it came with salad, rice, and a pita. Everything tasted well seasoned without being too heavy, from the dishes to the rice. Definitely cooked with care and attention, as I was met with the family that owned the restaurant. I also wanted to try the beef in white sauce and the cheese rolls which they said takes about 4 minutes to bake fresh, so I will be back. Thank you so much and I did enjoy it!

However, this might be the first time I’ve truly felt the urge to leave such a positive review. As someone who has spent the last five years in the United States, this is probably the only place that genuinely made me feel at home. I don’t even feel the need to comment on the food—you can go without a single question mark in your mind. The prices are also very reasonable.
