I don’t mean to be rude, but this is the worst sushi I have ever had. The service was okay. The guy forgot a few things a couple times. Nothing tasted fresh and it was overall disappointing…

I am so impressed with the delicious food! Add to this, I’m amazed with the freshness and quality , particularly since I live a good distance and have only been able to do delivery. The mere fact that I could order a delicious, perfectly cooked piece of succulent cod fish at 1 am , have it by 1:30 at my door, and find it as warm and as fresh tasting as though I were in the restaurant, is beyond amazing. I’ve tried about 5 other deliveries from Izakaya Sasaya, as well (always including this delicious cod fish) and each item I’ve tasted is great! I’m in!

Food was amazing. We had some yakatori, quail eggs, salmon nigiri, cabbage salad- all delicious. Service was great- can use tablets or a server, who was great. The place is decorated like a real Japanese izakaya. It’s great.

We went for late dinner, it wasn’t that crowded and we sat right away. We noticed the ipad on the table, thought it was pretty cool, so started to browse the menu, but the ipad was a little slow and non responsive. The food came fast, and the tech and vibe are pretty cool.

Hot dishes are good and comfy, the chicken skewer was really great. Yes, the space is a bit rundown but honestly I think that’s a vibe. It’s charming.
They did change the space since I last came here, though. I prefer how it was before, more open. Like this is good for romantic dates or meetings because there’s privacy. I wish they had the servers come in and talk to you though instead of just ordering everything on a tablet.

This place is fantastic. We came in looking for a late dinner and everything was outstanding. I especially liked the smokey duck skewers and the salmon / avocado roll. My wife loves mentaiko so she got the mentai-udon which was perfect. The chazuke to end the meal was just right. Highly recommended

This is LA ‘s best kept secret..not kidding. The owner Koichi is very welcoming and friendly and our absolute fav Assistant Manager Mio is super attentive and makes the best recommendations. Now to the food…you will never and I mean never be disappointed! The flavors are great and the menu is wonderfully curated.

All in all this is one of my favorite places.

I ordered two Jidori chicken through Uber Eats because they were having a promotion. This is what they gave me. Literally 6 pieces of chopped chicken meat with shredded carrots, spinach, and a slice of lemon. Would you pay 12 dollars for that? Just to be clear, each “dish” is 12 dollars, not together. Why become part of the promotion in the first place? I wouldn’t pay 6 dollars for this joke.

Love Sasaya!
It’s a bit of a Tokyo dive bar vibe, with really good food. Definitely not a fancy place… but Fun to have food and drinks with friends.
