This place is a true gem in Little Tokyo. I wish they brought back some semblance of a happy hour, but that didn’t stop us from having a fantastic time many times!

Great little corner spot. I think the prices are also LA fair. I really enjoyed the dashi omelette, delicious and felt like home

Food was so delicious! A little pricey but it was worth every penny and for a as nice reastaurant; I think prices were very reasonable. Especially because the service was just as great, I dropped chopsticks and it was like a new set appeared outta thin air. Can’t wait to come back, everyone was just so delicious.

Found among lots of touristy shops and restaurants, Gazen managed to serve up authentic Japanese izakaya fares. We only ordered their cooked foods since their didn’t look all that good from other patrons.

Did this just become my new favorite restaurant in Little Tokyo?! I enjoyed the Zabuton Beef Steak – YOU MUST TRY! It is so tender and the sauce complements the steak so well (it’s not like the typical teriyaki sauce that’s so sweet and overpowering). The soft shell crab roll is also to die for. It only comes with 5 pieces, but trust me, it is filling. Lastly, the classic tofu was alright. It wasn’t flavorful enough but I’ll gladly take the protein. I will most likely not order it again.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in the whole of America and is probably the closest to a native japanese restaurant for a reasonable price in LA. very authentic sushi and friendly staff. The fish is extremely fresh, and they even have daily fish imported from japan. I would always go here whenever I come to LA. You can get anything on the menu and I guarantee it tastes good here. They provide free parking when billing at the parking lot beside the restaurant too. Definitely recommend.
