Salted pork belly, grilled salmon cheek, yuzu yellowtail, spicy crispy tofu, takoyaki, and tempura were all standard. Fries were too salty for me, probably the only item we ordered that I wouldn’t recommend. All their desserts were not bad but nothing crazy.
They accidentally spilled soy sauce on my friend’s sleeve but where extremely apologetic about it and helped her clean it as well as giving her 3 complementary desserts!
Another recommended dish is the Salmon & Ikura Kamameshi aka cast iron pot. Their udon dishes are good too. The noodles are made in house daily.
When u arrive, they always ask if you have a reservation. We have done walk-ins many times and were seated right away. I would suggest making a reservation for weekends and holidays, just in case.
Came on a Sunday night and surprisingly no wait!
I had:
1. Mentai Cream Hot Pot
2. Salmon with Truffle Oil
3. Yellowtail Jalapeño
4. Japanese Chili Fried Chicken Wing
5. Crispy Winged Gyoza
6. Spicy Crispy Tofu
7. Salmon Ikura Kamameshi
8. Yuzu Sour
9. Okinawa Sour
The assortment of delicious appetizers and entrees made this place a future go-to spot for dinner. Every dish was cooked well with high-quality ingredients. I even liked the ika and tako, even though I usually don’t order squid or octopus when there are so many other fresh options available.
Staff is very polite and helpful.
Both the udon and ramen noodles are excellent options, although you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu.
We ordered a couple dishes to share:
1. The assorted pickled veggies were crispy and refreshing but will probably skip next time. 3/5
2. The karage was seasoned well and juicy. It was so busy so we didn’t get a chance to flag down the waitress for mayo to dip. 4.5/5
3. The 16 piece UFO gyoza was HUGEEEE and so juicy. A must order! 5/5
4. The Nabeyaki udon was piping hot and hearty. The udon had a wonderful chewy texture with nice bounce. It came with 2 pieces of shrimp tempura which was a bit soggy. 4/5
5. The Zaru soba was so tasty! The noodles were chewy, refreshing, and the dipping broth was not too strong. 5/5
Overall, a lovely dining experience. I want to come back to try some of the lunch specials.
One thing to know is that any of the udon dishes could have the noodles swapped out for soba if you wish. Personally I felt like the udon was a perfect match because the thick noodles carried sauce amazingly.
Last summer I also came here and had the yuzu soba for lunch. That one was amazing so if they have that you should definitely order it
