I was having high hopes for this place, was really wanting a chimichanga. Found them online and ordered. When I opened my meal it was not good to the eye. They put the beans in the same pan as my shimmy and it was soggy. The rice was good but not happy. They should have separated the wet food from the dry food.

Good basic Mexican food. Chips and salsa-pico de gallo were a nice start and replenished on request. Plenty of selections, food was served hot

I wish I could leave a lower rating than 1 star.
I’ll start with this: The people were lovely. Nothing wrong with them, they provided great service.
This food however is some of the worst food I’ve ever had the misfortune to order. The chips were stale and the salsa was tomato water. The guac had ZERO flavor, no lime, no salt, very much store bought garbage. I ordered the Santa Fe burrito and it was a 3/10 at best. Flavor on this was barely okay.
Avoid at all costs. The only reviews above 4 & 5 stars are from old white people that have never visited south of the Massachusetts border, let alone south of the US border for any real authentic Mexican food. Don’t be fooled, stay away. It’s going to be an experience I remember for years because of how horrible this food was.

After being terribly disappointed that my local “massage” parlor closed , I found this gem in the same block! The bartender was very friendly and had a lot of energy! Great crew of regulars here as well that made me feel welcome and at home! Definitely worth a visit! They turned my frown upside down! Would definitely recommend!

What a great place to go! We called ahead for a table of 20 and they took care of us all without any major problems. One dish was coming out late? They immediately let us know and apologized, asking that person if they wanted anything else in the meantime. Nothing was missing in the end, we all got our drinks and our food and the bill came out perfectly (and quickly too, prompt service all around). We would happily go back and eat here again, with a small crew or for another big outing.

I love Ixtapa! It’s a great neighborhood spot, no frills but delicious food and drinks with large serving sizes, friendly bartenders (Angel helped us today and was the best!) and great customer service.

Got takeout from here for the first time. Delicious food! Generous portions! Prices were fair. Our order came with plenty of sauces and some tortilla chips which was a nice surprise. I would highly recommend this place, looking forward to going again.

Pretty disappointing. Not sure what in the world they do to their beans but they were horrible. Everything else was eh. Booth seat was also completely busted

Solid spot. It’s hard to give a review on the service and atmosphere because I went during a down time. The food was pretty good and I like the presentation of the rice & beans in the tortilla cups. I had the shrimp and bacon tacos which were pretty good.

My mom is from Texas so we have high standards for Mexican food. This is the only place in the Boston area that tastes like the Mexican food in Texas! So delicious and authentic. The building is absolutely gorgeous with Mexican style architecture and interior design. So colorful and pretty. The servers are very friendly and helpful. Everyone who works there is Latino so you know it’s good!!!
