Let me start off by telling you this lil fact about this place, THE ABSOLUTE BEST GYROS ON LONG island…. 100%!!! I just happen to fall onto this place during the beginning of Covid… I unfortunately bank at the place Next-door… And this was during the time when only a certain amount of people were allowed in to an establishment at a time. So while I had to wait my turn in my car, I decided to get something to eat, and long and behold “it’s Greek to me” just happened to be the restaurant I was parked in front of. So I thought to myself, “self you like gyros, why not try one from here?!?“ LOL when I went up to the window, I was greeted with such a huge smile and a friendly face… And during that time a friendly face was what everybody needed. I soon came to learn her name is Stephanie, the daughter of the owner John, Who is also the most talented cook in the back… And his wife Cathy who is also very accommodating and extremely welcoming! But anyway… I can go on and on about this restaurant, it’s clean, their customer service is impeccable, they are extremely accommodating and friendly, and their food?!? The best lamb… soft and succulent… Delectable in every way… Their tahini sauce you can tell me is homemade and as cliché as it may sound made with love and made with that Greek love… Everything on that menu is Beyond delicious… I honestly think I only keep my accounts at that terrible bank next-door because of this place, because every time I drive nine exits on the 135 I always make it a point to stop here and pick up lunch or dinner for me and my family!!! LOL I highly recommend it’s great to me restaurant in Syosset to anyone and everyone! They will not disappoint you, in fact they will exceed every expectation you have, I guarantee it! They definitely have exceeded all of mine and they still continue to! I applaud you John, Cathy, and Stephanie! Me and my family will never go to another place for a Gyro ever again because the real gyros come from here!!!

What a fabulous restaurant in Syossett. My wife and I and 3 friends stopped by yesterday February 9, 2023. We were greeted warmly and so friendly and seated at our table. The waitress was fantastic and again friendly and so professional. The food was beyond our expectations and spot on delicious. I highly recommend the Lamb chops and Lemon Potatoes. The deserts were authentic and again delicious. I had the rice pudding, home made and again delicious. The owner visited our table several time to chat and see if all was good. Outstanding! Finally we found an authentic Greek spot, a real mom and pop feel. I literally just got home from ordering food for my family and with every bite we truly were so happy we ordered from here. We’re extremely picky where it comes to eating out and always consider the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as the taste of food. As soon as you walk in you feel like you’re walking into your grandparents restaurant with the warmth of the atmosphere. You can clearly see how professionally they prepare your food. I was speaking to the lady who made my food and she was so kind. Now the food tastes so authentic so genuine – I hate mass produced food chains (chipotle, etc) because the food tastes almost mechanic, but the food at It’s Greek to me made me feel cozy and full! Can’t wait to order from this place again! Definitely don’t need to think twice about ordering from here. Clean and delicious!

Worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. Greek food is really Greek to them. We ordered Chicken platter and Lamb platter. I can’t believe the other 5 star reviews here. I don’t usually review but I couldn’t resist this time.

Absolutely love this place! I work at a doctor’s office and we had this place catered to us and I fell in love. The grilled chicken was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The greek salad was fresh and the dressing was nice and vinegary; just how I like it. The pita bread is nice and soft and the tzatziki was a little different than from what I’m used to but it was delicious! I went in there recently as well to pick up an order and the owners were very welcoming and kind. So glad to have found this hidden treasure in Syosset !

I love this place. I’ve been eating here for many years and the one thing that has stayed consistent is the quality in both the food and the service. If you haven’t tried this place out yet then you must you must go. It’s a perfect combination of true authentic Greek food And that personal family touch.. If I can give them 6 stars I would.
