We loved this place! It’s been here a long time and we didn’t even know it existed. The garlic bread is a must, you have to have the balsamic dipping sauce with it. In these pictures we had view and swordfish. The cannoli was excellent! And our waiter was the bomb!!

I had the chicken fettuccini flavia. I originally wanted a the chicken Alfredo with broccoli, but decided to try something different. This dish had a creamy tomato & vodka sauce with chicken, broccoli, and artichokes. I liked it and would order again, but I learned I’m not a fan of artichokes in general. Solid 8/10 on the dish. However, the tiramisu (not pictured) was literally to die for. I devoured it so quick. Probably inhaled it. The owner told me he hand makes the tiramisu from scratch! Portion size was a large amount, but not splittable amongst 2 people. Total was $40 with the tip, but totally worth it.

This was my first and last time going here. My husband made reservations 3 weeks prior for 3. He wanted to do something special for Valentines day. The hostess asked if we had a reservation. We said yes for 3 people. For some reason she asked how many twice. We all were standing together. She seated us at a table for 6 people. Our server did a terrible job. Its like she didn’t want to be there at all. Our food took forever to come out to us. When it actually came it wasn’t seasoned. My husband ordered the shrimp plate. You would think $40 for 4 shrimp and rice would taste good. We got the stuffed chicken breast with the veggies of the day. It was hard to cut into with the butter knife. I asked for a steak knife, but didn’t get one. She never asked if we would like a refill of any kind. Our cheesecake was brought in a togo box sideways in a bag. We had to ask for our check twice, because she said she forgot. Overall she didn’t want to help us at all. Next go round I will take my money where its appreciated. I never want anyone to lose their job. Atp she should’ve called in on Valentines Day.

Got to the Restaurant me and my wife sat there 20min until the waiter came over to get our drink order… after getting our food it was ok, once I received my bill the 1st bill was for 300$ for 2 of us, the waiter went to get it correct once the waiter came back to the table I gave him my credit card once I received the credit card receipt I noticed there was stuff on my bill that me and my wife did not get. Like an appetizer and 3 glasses of wine. I brought it to my waiter attention he asked me
For my credit card. So he can reverse the charges. But he didn’t. He took the stuff off that was not supposed to be on my bill and charged me again. So now there is a charge on my credit card that should not be… I’m not a happy customer and will not go back

I really WANT to love this place, but they’re not making it easy.

I went for the first time the other night around 6 PM. Walking inside was impressive – beautiful interior. Eerily empty. I found and asked someone if they were open – and they were. Seated at a table; one other table in the entire restaurant had a group at it.

My first thought: I want to start hosting dinner parties here instead of at Venezia because it’s QUIET. We’d be able to hear each other and have a conversation. Even the private dining room at Venezia is loud, and when they have live music – business dinners are a mistake.

When my waitress came over to introduce herself, I asked if they had an Amarone on the winelist. She didn’t know. I asked for the winelist. It did. I ordered a bottle. $105. Only 2x markup from HEB across the street; better than the usual 3x – 4x one finds for a bottle of wine in a restaurant.

As I ordered the bottle of wine … she asked if I was ready to order. Having just sat down, I said, “I’d prefer to get my wine first.”

Another gentleman brought it; decanted at my request, and I spent the next 45 minutes … enjoying my bottle of wine, by myself, awkwardly wondering what happened to my waitress in this EMPTY RESTAURANT. I flagged down a passing service member, whom I would find out was Albanian and didn’t speak any English, but she did find another gentleman, who stopped by my table, so I could ask him to find my waitress for me.

When she came back, my passive aggressive rebuke was, “Everything ok? I missed you!” She said, “Oh, I thought you said that you wanted to be left alone with your wine.” Good grief, that’s not what I said, but at least she was here now.

On my first visit to any restaurant, I’ll ask the server what their best seller is, and what their favorite dish is. I will almost always order one of those two. My waitress said she wasn’t familiar with the menu. I asked her if she’d been waitressing long. She told me two weeks.

I ordered a Caprese salad to buy time to actually look at the menu.

A Caprese salad is sliced tomato under sliced mozarella under some basil leaves, hopefully with some salt and basalmic vinegar. I’m eating one as I type this (not from the Italian Village). She brought me a salad. Lettuce salad, with some tomato and mozzarella, but neither ingredient had ever met Basil, and I think the tomato had threatened to go on strike if anyone put a condiment near it.

An hour and half of a bottle of wine later, I begrudingly munched on my lettuce salad because my waitress wasn’t around for me to ask if they’d made a mistake on a Caprese salad, and some other guy finally stopped in (with my waitress in tow) to make dinner recommendations.

I ordered something that he said; I don’t remember, and it was uninspired. By the time for dessert, the whole bottle of wine was gone. One of the desserts was homemade (Tiramisu?); I will automatically order in-house things like that. It was tasty. $220 for a dinner for 1, and I left confused. And … oddly still hungry.

It’s beautiful inside. Perhaps it’s empty because the service is uninspired. I want to love it. I desperately want this to be my default place. I can’t risk the awkwardness of hosting a dinner party somewhere that could deliver this kind of impression to my customers or colleagues.

I may try it again with my wife in tow, after enough time has passed for the staff to change out and for everyone to forget the memory of the guy reading a book in the corner of an empty restaurant by himself drinking an entire bottle of wine and trying to project “I’m hungry, please feed me” to no one.

*edit to add* I remember my entree – a forgettable medium rare ribeye steak, over some absolutely deliciously cooked potatoes.

Love to come to this restaurant, atmosphere is what you wood expect from a nice cozy small Italian restaurant. Food is well done and full of rich flavors and you are always greeted with such an inviting smile. Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. It’s the perfect place for those important occasions or just when you really don’t want fast food this is my go to place.

The interior is nice and quiet, quaint. They seated us and a gentlemen pulled out the chair for my wife which was nice. They light a candle on your table and our server brought out a fresh baked mini load of bread with butter and later brought garlic oil.

Our server was attentive and informed us of the daily dishes not on menu and we ordered fried calamari for the appetizer. The wife ordered a dish that comes with chicken and potatoes. I ordered the daily special which was red fish on a bed of linguini with muscles, shrimp, asparagus and tomatoes.

The fried calamari came out with marinara for dipping and it was without doubt the best calamari we have ever tasted. I thought calamari was supposed to be chewy. Turns out when done right it is tender as it can be. For ten bucks you get a large order with plenty for a party of four.

Next came our meals and they were both beautiful and delicious. The muscles and shrimp in my dish, were like the calamari, tender and cooked to perfection in wine sauce that was perfect. The wife’s chicken was good as well with flavorful roasted potatoes. Our tab was seventy bucks which all things considered was not bad. My red fish plate was nearly forty bucks and I received a large piece of red fish, muscles and shrimp so I felt that was fair.

This place is too fancy for my taste, the food is great but I’m not a fancy guy so I felt out of place. That being said if you like good Italian you gotta give them a shot. I will be back for sure even if I don’t quite fit in.

Best hidden gem stone in Midland. Food is amazing and so is the price. Customer service is on point. Much better than Ray’s and you can even get cocktails instead of having to bring it. Everyone check them out.

Hard to believe this place is hidden here in town. I give 5 stars for the food and service
The waiter was very versed on the food and wine they have. They have a full bar with an outside patio. Plenty of tables. 1st time I’ve ever had flounder stuffed with crab. Nice quite clean place to eat. You will not run low on drink refills the staff is on there toes. They also have steak on the menu. You can tell the homemade difference here. Price is about the same anywhere eles in town But easily better

Such a great experience! We haven’t visited in years and decided to stop in for lunch. We were the only table in the restaurant. The soup, salad, meatballs, and the entree were all absolutely wonderful! The server was attentive and kept our drinks full.
Please visit this local gem! We can’t wait to return!
