Nice place. But this is not a Italian food. Italy is, first and foremost, a sense of beauty — a sense of proportion, balance. And this is classic American food: more of everything, with no moderation.
My expectations are on me
Ps even Google maps identifying ravioli’s plate photo like a Lasagna
My servers were Kathy and Sophia and they were extremely attentive. My drinks never ran out and they probably checked on me 10 times while I was there.
The bread was hot and definitely from scratch. Wasn’t dried out like others mentioned.
The salad was fantastic and PLENTIFUL. I barely ate any of this I was completely stuffed! The salad may not look like it in the picture but it was probably big enough to feed 4 people maybe 5.
The tomato sauce is sweeter than most. But I feel mixed with the meat it really balanced it out. I was a fan myself.
Everything you see in my photos including a drink (not pictured) came out to $22.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience and I will be returning.
Part 2 : Went Back a different day for dinner. Ordered ravioli with Alfredo sauce instead of their sweet tomato sauce. Absolutely delicious! Hubby ordered ribs again.
No pictures to show of the food…. Ate most of the food and the rest we made sure we took home in boxes.
Out of the oven baked section on menu, you get the most portion size from the Lasagna. Delicious!!!!!!!
Home made sweet sauce was addicting!
Five Chef’s Kiss from us!
I wanted to share this privately rather than posting it on Google or a local community page, because I don’t want to hurt your small-town image, I just want to offer feedback so some changes and improvements can be made.
My family and I visited tonight. My dad and stepmother were in from Florida, tired and hungry, just wanting a good meal together. We originally wanted to go to the new El Cozumel in Davison, but it was packed, so we decided to finally give Italian Gardens a try after living here three years and never having visited.
When we arrived, it wasn’t busy, but it still took several minutes to be greeted. A nice young woman seated us and brought menus. The salad and bread were just okay, nothing special. My dad ordered the antipasto and chicken soup, but his soup didn’t come out with the bread and salads. We asked for it, and it finally came right before dinner. It was hot, but he said it wasn’t very good, even joked that a quality canned soup would’ve been better.
I got the pizza, which tasted like something from Chuck E. Cheese or a food court, for $14, it was disappointing. My stepmother’s meatball sandwich may have had homemade meatballs, but they were bland, and the sauce tasted canned. My wife’s chicken Alfredo came out lukewarm with barely any chicken. For what they charge, you could go to Lucky’s Steakhouse and get a ribeye dinner with sides that’s way better and actually hot.
The waitress was very kind and did her best, but overall the place felt unorganized. I think the man who said goodbye to us was the owner, but honestly, it seemed like the kitchen was being run by teenagers or very young staff, or they’re simply understaffed.
The entire experience felt like airport or rest stop food. For nearly $100 with tip, that’s unacceptable, especially for a restaurant with multiple locations.
For the money, we could’ve gotten better food at Andiamo or Caio in Fenton. It’s too bad, because we really wanted to love the restaurant. In hindsight, we probably could’ve just waited for a table at El Cozumel and had a better experience. My father mentioned the experience to a local hotel in the area, and they told him we could have told you that about this place, my friend in Lindon said yeah, they are like the Olive Garden of Italian food.
