I visited Itacho Sushi for the first time with my fiance for my birthday dinner. Everything was amazing. The staff was attentive and I was impressed with the service. Food was served quick after placing each order and everything was delicious.
I love the variety of rolls, appetizers, nigiri, and sashimi to choose from. They even have options for teppanyaki and ramen included with the all you can eat. Worth it and we will definitely come back again in the future. There’s so much more on the menu that I want to try out.
ALL YOU CAN EAT AND BOYYYY DID WE 4 ATE….LOL
We opted for the AYCE platinum menu. Definitely recommend trying different single sashimi or nigiri and picking your favorites. The dishes tasted fresh and flavorful! Some of my favorites were the unagi, ikura, squid, seared salmon, king mushroom salad, and escolar.
Also helpful to remember your order each passing round (user error on our end). We certainly felt like we ate our money’s worth with the variety. The hand rolls are generous, so I would opt for just nigiri or sashimi and salad next time.
Parking is ample in the lot, unlike other parts of Convoy. Our server was also really patient and attentive. The vibe inside is relaxed – there’s a large dual TV that was playing football and a sushi mukbang.
For 4 people each ordering AYCE platinum menu, we paid 55$ per person including tip.
The rolls presentation looked nice but the flavors itself were lacking. The sushi rice didn’t have the distinct taste. It was rather dry, flavorless, and smelled as if it wasn’t washed well or too old. That made the whole experience unpleasant, whether it was a roll or sushi. As long as it had rice, it didn’t make me want a second bite. It was more like having to force myself to finish everything, if not everything was a la carte price, which still wouldn’t be worth the cost. Sushi were plentiful with rice and fish fell right off the block as it was picked up.
I’m not even sure how to properly describe the appetizers. The fried calamari were cold, dry, and hard. Not pleasing to the eye, either. The mango salmon was more like, cut the salmon as you please in little snippets and throw it on the plate with some sauce, and drop it off at the table.
The only good thing about this place was timing. Everything came out FAST! That’s it. Just rethinking about the whole experience makes me upset. It was an absolute waste of money!!
Hey guys! I’m visiting California as a little vacation, so if you go through my profile and see most of my ratings are based in Texas, this is the explanation for that.
Let’s start off with the entrance and how the greeting was handled — everything started off great. It was about a 5-10 minute wait for our group of 6 to be seated; this was totally understandable, as it did seem to be very busy at the time.
Moving onto the next section, we have the whole ordering food and waiting process. Our server took our order relatively quickly, and within a few minutes, the food started coming out for 1 out of the 6 people in our party. This was pretty great, as everything they ordered came to them within minutes. The rest of the party had to wait for about 10-20 minutes for their portions to come out; this was once again reasonable due to how many customers were seated in the building. I however ordered only 2 items — the items being avocado rolls and chicken gyoza. I had waited about 20-30 minutes for these rolls to come out, just for the portion size to be abysmal, and the taste to be mediocre at best — which not even soy sauce could save. This did kill my appetite, and I might have been expecting a little too much from avocado rolls (a bland food), but I have tasted better for $10 at a mall restaurant.
Moving onto the bill — I did ask if I could pay for the food a-la-carte as I only got 2 dishes, only to get turned down as per the “policy”. I later on went to ask about this so called policy, only to find out that there was no policy to begin with, and they allegedly didn’t even do a-la-carte. (Photos will be included below showing that on their outside windows, they offer DoorDash and Uber Eats, and even going on to offer a-la-carte as a feature at their restaurant)
If you like enjoying your meals and still having money in your pocket; please look elsewhere. I do not care that this place is having it’s “Grand Opening”, I expected better.
Their price point is unbelievable for the quality of food provided.
The place is clean.
Service is quick and provided with a smile.
My server was Sohpia – 6/5 amazing.
With lots of dining space and a few TVs, it’s a great spot to relax and savor all the flavors of each item you choose. My favorites were the kitchen appetizers. Perfect for sharing but why would you want to!?
Be sure to save room for dessert as it is also included. I chose their deep fried cheesecake. Mind blown.
Sadly, my pictures don’t do this place any justice…
Be sure to give them a try. No matter where you live in San Diego.
Welcome to the America’s Finest City!
