My niece was craving croquetas and of course we had to come to the best place that can offer that. We bought a party order of 25 croquetas and a croqueta preparada sandwich and they were both so delicious. The croquetas were warm and tasty and the croqueta preparada was filling. I loved how they added the papitas, which made it better. The service here is great. They gave me the order within minutes. They’re also very welcoming. I’m would definitely continue to come here for croquetas and a quick bite to eat.

This is the newly opened “fancy” Sergio’s in Pinecrest. As locals we have enjoyed our Cuban favorites and this location exceeded our expectations. We sat at the bar for a quick dinner and were served by Gala and Rachel who made us feel so at home. We were delighted to watch them create cocktail after cocktail from smoked Old Fashioneds, traditional mojitos made with real lime juice, and our favorite- the Dragonfruit Margarita.

“We arrived right at the tricky shift change from lunch to dinner service, so it took about 10 minutes (and us asking) before we finally got menus—totally understandable given the timing.
Once things got rolling, the staff were friendly and attentive. The real star, though, was the Cuban steak sandwich: hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly hot, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. Worth the visit all on its own!”
(5/5 for the food, slight hiccup on arrival timing that wasn’t really their fault.)

Juan Carlos my waiter was AMAZING! I flew down from Massachusetts just for this to get a taste of home that I miss. Everyone is so friendly and warm, the host, the girls working there. Thank you so much! This is a MUST STOP!! The breakfast is to die for, best potatoes and croquetas de la casa!!!!!

Islas Canarias Cafe Restaurant and Bakery is an absolute gem me and my wife are regulars. Every bite of food we have is amazing, but the croquetas deserve their own standing ovation. Hands down the best croquetas I’ve ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and packed with flavor.

What truly elevates our experience every time is our waitress, Marlene we always hope she’s on shift when we go. She is incredibly attentive, friendly, and has such a great personality that instantly makes us feel welcome. She checks on us just the right amount and makes the whole meal even more enjoyable.

Delicious food, wonderful service, and a cozy, welcoming vibe. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

My husband and I have been coming here for years and years, and in the last two years, we have been coming every Saturday morning with our extended family for breakfast. Impeccable service never fails—every single waitress and waiter is incredible and have even become as close to us as family. We are expecting our first child, and every time we come in, the first thing everyone who works here asks is about the baby. We couldn’t feel more at home having these kind of relationships with the staff here. It also helps that everything we’ve ever ordered has always been delicious!

If you live in or visit Miami at any point, you should definitely experience Islas Canarias.

This Miami staple serves classic Cuban food that is simple, yet beautifully executed.

My husband and I stopped by for breakfast + both ordered the Desayuno Criollo which included eggs (I got scrambled with Swiss + he got scrambled with ham), protein (I got bacon + he got sausage), potato side (he got fries + I got house potatoes which were deliciousssss), cuban bread (very well buttered), and coffee (he got cafe con leche + was able to add his own coffee to his liking + I got a colada). The dish also includes 2 ham croquettas and they were definitely the star of the dish, these was the BEST IN MIAMI. My husband also ordered a single waffle which was simple but still yummy.

I been coming to this place for their croquetas forever. The croquetas don’t disappoint. Their pan con Bistec was the worst I’ve ever had. No sazon the meat smelled old and it was overall bad.
Sorry for the bad review, But you guys need to pivot and work on this cuban Classic.
