The food is occasionally okay, but my issue is with the people making it. they can be so lazy. i get quesadillas with literally cold tortillas and not one bit of melted cheese. everyone knows quesadillas are meant to have melted cheese. cook it for 2 minutes longer, and it’ll be fine. the pizza place constantly burns stuff. the burger place too, and sometimes they just do not attempt at making something right at all. i understand it is just a school dining hall, but for some of us this is the only meal we eat all day, and a meal plan is so expensive. a little more effort could be put in.

After transferring, I see the true lack of quality here. First of all, the to go options are not very tasty, and it’s very expensive on a college student budget for how little you actually get. They would have chicken wings and mac and cheese out, but once I got to the register they told me it cost $25. The actual meal plan meals are 2 small sides and a small entree. This could include a small apple, a water bottle, and a small pizza the diameter of my hand. There really aren’t very many options; sometimes they only had 1 entree option, and it’s the same food every 1-2 weeks. The food made my stomach hurt for the first 3 weeks because of the amount of grease. The workers are incredibly kind, but the food just isn’t very good nor particularly nutritious. I don’t know who’s at fault, but I have friends who go to schools who also use this company (Chartwells). They have way better food and more options.

Let us be real here. The Islander Dining Hall is a rare gem. This place is amazing! So many different styles of food to choose from, with those rotating daily and sometimes sooner, this is the place to eat. The prices are insane … in a good way. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. They will go out of their way to help you find or get the meal you are after … within reason. The openness of the hall is great as well, because even though it may have a lot of people in it the place never feels crowded. It is clean, and well maintained. Even with all the awesomeness, there is still room for improvement, such as opening earlier for breakfast. Also, if they opened earlier, it would make eating there three times a day less like one is simply living there, since it is such a great place to eat, do some homework, and perhaps push that however many hour limit. Either way, the Islander Dining Hall is great! (Related side note: I would highly suggest you contact your local chapter of The Humans for Hummingbirds Society and ask them how you can help save some hummingbirds.) Happy Green Smiley Faces from me!

They have a good variety of foods here! Sometimes it can be a bit of a hit or miss. But for the most part, I love the staff and like the food.
I appreciate how they have added more options and signs that indicate that they can accommodate for food preferences like Vegetarian and Gluten free.

Compared to other schools’, this diner is pretty decent. For the low price of 11$, you get a buffet. But for the people with special diets, it’s really not a good choice

The lunch and dinner foods are pretty mediocre, and even though the grill is great you can only get burgers so many times before you start to hate yourself.

Breakfast is great though! The omelets are a consistent win and you can never go wrong with fresh fruit.

Pathetic is the word. No various options for vegetarians or vegans but plenty full for non vegetarians, even the to go section does not Alsace any food in their and the icing is that do not care about it. 9 out of 10 times the to go section is empty and the other times does not have veg friendly meals. No staff seems to pay attention to it either. The way they insist on getting the meal plan would make one think it to be a good option but it’s just beyond disappointing.

When it’s good, it’s good. When it’s bad, it’s really bad. Not very vegan or vegetarian friendly, otherwise food is decent. Extremely overpriced. The breakfast is ALWAYS bomb tho (7-10).
