Great selection of beverages to try and Jamaican snacks too. They also have desserts which is a plus! customer service was amazing and welcoming. My first time trying Jamaican food and I wasn’t disappointed! got the curry chicken and goat with rice very flavorful, tender and great portions wonderful addition to bennington!

Two sizes are offered- regular and large. The regular is what I ordered and it was just enough food for one sitting. If I wanted to eat and have leftovers I’d order the large. I failed to ask for gravy on the rice and it wasn’t offered so be sure to mention this if desired.

Subtle smooth and succulent underline the flavors of the new Island Flavor Jamaican Cafe on Main Street in Bennington Vermont. The jerk chicken is wonderful, although not intensely hot. But the curried goat is simply perfect, just watch out for those small bones. Do ask for some gravy on your rice and peas. The to go containers are something special. Not only are they reusable, but recyclable as well. This small shop is take out only. Open after 11am daily except Saturday. Desert and beverages are worth exploring. All in all a must stop.

Delicious! I’ve had the curried chicken, curried goat, and jerk chicken, and have loved all three. The meat falls right off the bone and has so much flavor! MUCH needed cuisine in Bennington. The owner is also very kind, I wasn’t very familiar with Jamaican food, and she was really patient as I went back and forth. I’m hooked now.

Wow. Real Jamaican Food. Some of the best I’ve had. Of course, I got the jerk chicken! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The plantains were delish too. I also got one of the little meat pocket things that were up front, not sure what they were called but I’m mad I didn’t get more because that was amazing! Also, the guy working up front was very sweet and polite 🙂

Why would I eat anywhere else? Best food in town. Incredible flavors. Couldn’t put my plate down! I have a gluten sensitivity so this was a great spot for me which is hard to find in Bennington.

I ordered a large curry goat and what I received was a pile of overcooked and flavorless meat that was unbearable and I had to throw away and this was at 12 right after opening.
