The outside of this place is really cool! I was so excited to see they had rum raisin because I never see that flavor anywhere! The waffle cones were thick and really tasty, and they actually sell cracked up pieces of them in bags, which is neat! My dog Khaleesi really enjoyed her pup cup!! My oldest son got a slice of ice cream cake.

This was my Dad and I’s favorite ice cream spot. I have so many nice memories coming here with him getting my favorite ice cream. He sadly passed away this year in May. One of his last requests was asking us to get him ice cream from here. He had a hat from here that he loved to wear. Thank you to Island Creamy for all the wonderful memories<3

The most delicious ice cream in the area! There are many flavors to choose from, so there is something for everyone. Vegan options are also available! Clean establishment with fast service. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor deck is dog friendly and has a handicap access ramp. Best spot for a quick sweet little treat!

After reading all the reviews, we had very high expectations. We visited in the shoulder season, so there were other customers, but it was not crazy busy. The staff were pleasant but did not offer any suggestions, offer samples, or share any directions as to the ordering process. It was our first time there, so we watched the people in front of us and followed suit. I would not call the staff friendly or engaging, but they were efficient. Overall, the ice cream was good however my husband commented that the birthday cake flavor did not taste anything like cake batter (i tasted his and agreed) and he only received one nugget of cookie dough in his cookie dough scoop. I had about three in my scoop. As you can see from the photos, this did not stop us from eating every bit of ice cream in our bowls. With just a few other people eating indoors, it was easy to spot crumbs on the floor and the lack of any coordinated decorations. I’m guessing in the summer this place is decked out and packed with families enjoying their vacation.

Amazing ice cream! So many good flavors & non-dairy options which is amazing. The waffle cones were so good too. Very organized system & fast service even if there is a long line. Lots of inside & outside seating.

Very good ice cream. The cookies and cream with brownie was great. Loved how creamy the ice cream was. The brownie was chewy. The line at this place is so long it was almost reaching the street.
The staff are so friendly. The place is very uplifting.
10/10! (A bit expensive at $9 but they give you a lot of ice cream)

Absolutely the best ice creams we’ve ever had. There’s a long queue during peak tourist season. A must visit if you are visiting this area.

I love Island Creamery. The smell is nostalgic and amazing. My family and I go to Chincoteague every year and always get ice cream from here multiple times throughout our trip. I usually get cake batter in a waffle cone with chocolate sprinkles, it is the best ice cream EVER! I have tried the Island Creamery in Berlin but it’s not the same vibe. I’ve been going here since I was a little kid and have always loved it. We usually bring home a pint of cake batter and a pint of marsh mud and a bag of waffle cone pieces. They have ever got our order wrong! The staff is kind and loving. If we have a problem they are always there to help, but usually there’s not a problem beside the fact that one of us might have spilled ice cream and need more napkins! So like I said I LOVE ISLAND CREAMERY!!! I’m already excited for next years trip! Sometimes we go for a day just so we can go to the beach and… get Island Creamery.

Best ice cream in Chincoteague! Been coming here since I was little and it’s always amazing. Love all the different flavors and fresh waffle cones.

In my personal opinion I would be just as happy buying Turkey Hill brand from the grocery store and eating it in the peace & quiet of my hotel. It wasn’t special enough for me to warrant fighting through the crowds and wild children running and screaming literally everywhere. And for over $7 my double scoops were pretty tiny. Great for kids, I guess, but not really for me. Too chaotic both inside, outside, and for parking.
EDIT: As a tourist, I’ve visited 3 times now. I suggest coming in early afternoon for the best experience. The ice cream is decent and kids will love it. As an ice cream expert myself, though, it’s just average. Give them a try.
