Upon entry i was greeted by Lance who was extremely personable and friendly and led me in the right direction for many of their menu items.. They have different items for different days of the week. Today (Thursday), Igot the pork chops with red beans and rice and plantains.. delicious all the way around and huge portions which is a go to for me… I also got the beef stew which I have not tried yet but it was plentiful in size and smelled amazing…
The owners were as gracious and kind as can be and were attentive to my needs, which is rare these days with establishments.
If you’re in the mood for Creole food served fresh, nice and hot, with plenty of smiles to go around, This is the place for you. I highly recommend it.
Update: went back for lunch. Had the jerk chicken tacos and a side of plantains….AMAZING! I can’t remember the drink name but it was a pina colada boba type. So yummy! You definitely have to give this place a try. The owner and staff is super sweet and helpful.
The oxtails were definitely the star of the show—tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The sides were decent, but nothing really stood out to me. I also tried the boba and mango tea, which were refreshing, but at $14 for two, they felt overpriced—especially on top of the already pricey meal.
As a first-time visitor, I’d say the food wasn’t bad at all, but the overall cost was a bit steep for what I received. Worth a try if you’re craving Jamaican cuisine, but be prepared to spend a little more than expected.
As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was perfectly balanced, with flavors that were rich yet not overpowering. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh and carefully prepared, bringing out the true authenticity of the cuisine. It’s clear that this place takes pride in serving dishes that are not only delicious but also meaningful.
I can’t believe I hadn’t tried this spot sooner, and now it’s definitely going to be a regular stop for me. I highly recommend Island Breeze Bistro to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming environment with food that is both comforting and full of flavor.
We were asked have we been in before, then the menu was explained to us. We all 3 went with a plate, which comes with 1 protein and 2 sides.
I ordered jerk chicken, fried plantains, and mac and cheese. My boyfriend ordered jerk chicken, collard greens, and mac and cheese. His son ordered jerk chicken, a chicken patty, and mac and cheese.
The portions were very generous!
The jerk chicken was amazing. The fried plantains were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the best flavor. The mac and cheese was just okay, but better than any mac we’ve had from any other restaurant in town. My boyfriend liked his collard greens and said they were seasoned well.
The plate options rotate daily. They are open Wednesday through Saturday. And Darlene and Gabby are the sweetest!
We will be back!!!
