We used to come here for years and loved it. Moved away and came to town to eat here again and was disappointed. Waitress did a great job, but the food was just mediocre. I had the liver and onions and the liver was very tender but the gravy was too salty and the onions tasted off (old?). The salad bar has a lot of different choices but even that wasn’t great tasting. My husband had the soup and he said it was good but he didn’t care for the salad either. I was very bothered by the crap way the bathroom door had such a big gap in it – they need to get a longer/wider board and fix this. Very intrusive. Sad to say, we will just keep the good memories of how it used to be because it’s not the same now and we won’t return.

We stopped here for lunch during the week and ordered the daily special – chicken strips, gravy, fried okra, dinner roll and mashed potatoes. It came with a trip to the salad bar and dessert! It was delicious and such a bargain. The waitress was great.

We stopped in Junction at Isaack on our way to Alpine. We got there just in time for breakfast. The coffee was great. I has scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, hashbrowns and a biscuit. Everything was great but the homemade biscuit was delish.

Rolled into beautiful downtown Junction at lunchtime. Found this gem hiding in plain sight.
We had the AYCE salad bar. Everything was fresh and the side salads were tasty. Nice choice of dressings as well.
So we finished behaving ourselves and had a slice of Pecan and Silk pie to make up for it.

We went twice, sat at counter, chatted with waitress on both shifts. Had pie the first visit and all I could think about was the show “supernatural” cuz the whole vibe was there. And that is what made it great… The cherry pie was delicious, not overly sweet.. this morning I got French toast and it was actually made correctly. So if you are passing through junction stop here, sit at the counter and have a good conversation while enjoying good food.

Visited 2/7/25 for lunch with friends. We were seated immediately with no wait. Country, homey atmosphere and decor. Clean bathrooms and very friendly staff. Convenient location on the Main Street of town half way between downtown and I-10. Free, level parking lot. Great vintage sign out front (please don’t ever change this). Salad bar had a decent amount of options, the onion rings were glorious and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Orders were taken correctly and we didn’t wait more than 10-15 min for our food. Gift items were available for sale as well as candy by the cash register. Shopping and motels nearby. Very glad we stopped in and would definitely visit again!

This was my first time at Isaack’s. My friend and I both ordered a bottled beer. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived with a frosty mug. You rarely see that anymore. Even more surprised when each beer after, came with a new frosty mug.
I ordered the chicken friend steak with fries and the salad bar. The salad bar itself is cute. It’s one trip only unless you get the all you can eat option. Bowls are really small.
The fries were good. I would have preferred a little crispier. Chicken fried steak was tender, and the gravy was good.
The service was exceptional.
Now for the best part – the coconut pie. This pie changed my life. It was THE BEST pie I have ever had. If you like coconut, you HAVE TO try it!

If you have a hankering for classic Texas comfort food, Isaack’s delivers!
The cozy dining room with its wood paneling makes you nostalgic for the house of your youth (yes, I’m Gen X).
Your eyes do not deceive you… the salad bar is a clawfoot bathtub, and offers classic fresh fare.
The comfort food is plentiful… chicken fried steak, burgers, chicken fried chicken, fried zucchini, onion rings… you get the idea.
The service is friendly, efficient and the folks make you feel right at home.
Save room for the pie… cheers!

The exterior looks dated and ready for a facelift, but it is quite inviting inside. This was the perfect lunch alternative driving along I-10 Interstate. We had time to kill for a restful stop rather than just a “rest stop.” Like a small town Cracker Barrel, they had some kitschy decor, and the bathtub salad bar was such a clever idea. It was still quick to order and get our food, but everything was freshly made and brought me back to my grandmother’s delicious Midwest fare. Having spent more time in the Northeast of the US, there just aren’t enough restaurants with a good chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, grilled catfish, and hand-breaded onion rings. My son also happily devoured his cheeseburger. We hope to have the chance to stop by this way, again.

Polite and accommodating staff, vintage old-timey vibe, and the chicken fried steak was amazing (even the breading was drool-worthy). Hamburger steak was also incredibly good. And I do not like gravy, but I ate every bit of this gravy that they served here. It was that good. Their yeast rolls are fluffy and taste homemade, like they just came out of the oven. The fries, goodness gracious, looked and tasted like ACTUAL fries and NOT something out of a bag. The fries alone stole my heart/stomach/tastebuds.
