I’m a wedding photographer in Philadelphia and one of my couples had their microwedding at Irwin’s this past year. What can I say!? It was the perfect intimate space, both indoors and outdoors, for their dinner party wedding. The food was out of this world and the hospitality was top notch. You must get the Gnocchi Sardi and Trofie. And with it being inside of Bok, we were able to use all the other wonderful spaces (gymnasium, auditorium, Machine Shop) for portraits and family photos. If you’re looking to have an intimate gathering with amazing food and views, Irwin’s is the place!

People should be aware of what it is. Tiny tiny portions! You’ll leave with either an empty stomach or an empty wallet (or both). That makes the price in the super high-end category but the ambiance (staff outfit, supposedly relaxed vibe) is completely off given the price of the food. The taste of the food is not bad per se, but you can’t taste much given the size of the portions (even the sharing portion is small, you’ll get a bite). The staff was also not particularly friendly when we went, so overall not a great experience. We paid probably more than what we’d pay at most good restaurants in town, and ended up preparing ourselves a cheese platter and desserts once we got home. But yea, the building is original and the view is nice.
