This place is extremely excellent for anyone who knows how good a Chicago dog is, even if you don’t want a Chicago dog, they have plenty of other options that simply surpass any other classic diners. Not only do they keep their food fresh and delicious. They also have the most experienced workers I’ve ever seen, working here for over 2 decades each and every one of them. Making sure everyone gets the proper preparations for their food. Would 100% recommend anyone who is either visiting Chicago, or hasn’t tried this place. Irving’s does it like no one else simply because of experience and also knowing almost all there costumers personally. Not to mention they’ve been open for over 50 years now! Also the nostalgia for all those old timers who wanna take a blast in the past! Highly recommend and would eat here again.

Food was just okay, nothing too great. We were craving hot dogs so didn’t try anything else on the menu. Shake, not pictured here, was delicious. If in the area again, I’d stop by to try a burger.

We stopped in for a quick bite, we got a bacon cheeseburger and a jumbo hotdog with cheese and regular fires. Both got lemonade that seem as thought it was not made fresh and stale taste. The cheese fires were better without the cheese; it wasn’t regular melting cheese, more so as though its cheese from the cheese burger. The jumbo hotdog was made as a Chicago style hotdog, and was good but wouldn’t make to trip for it again. The last thing we got was a m&m cookie, that was sweet.

If your in the NW Burbs this is the best place for Chicago fast food. The best char dog and char burgers outside of the city. This place is a must.

For a treat that can not be beat, enjoy the special “grilled jumbo dog with cheddar and bacon”. Get it the way tge owner, Andy, recommends – mustard, grilled onions and dill pickles. (Oh, yeah, I add saurkraut.) This is what I reward myself with when I have worked too hard! Rejuvenates me every time!

It’s hard to beat the classic Chicago style dog, but my go-to order at Irving’s has been the gyro, cheese fries, and a combo chocolate-banana shake ever since I was a kid. The melted cheddar cheese they use with perfectly crispy fries is a decadent combination, you haven’t lived until you’ve tried it. The staff is friendly and personable, some of whom I’ve known for years from going to the restaurant, and I trust them to serve up good eats each and every time. If you’re looking for a classic Chicago joint serving up hot dogs, burgers, gyros, or your favorite American-style menu option – you’ve found it.

Recently moved to the area as this was my first time stopping in and all I can say is YUM! After consuming 2 of the juiciest doggy dog dogs I will say I am beyond impressed with the product. I am no hotdog connoisseur however I know succulent and savory and this was just that!
The staff was also very friendly In ensuring the order was to my satisfaction. Why can’t every business be as classy with communication? If I ever meet the owner of this business I will not only shake their hand for the quality of the food and service but also, ‘bend the knee’ per the cleanliness of the establishment. I might have to run it back on my return home today! That good! See for yourself.
