We came out for the Krampus shopping and party on December 7th. Josie and Candace made us feel welcome and served great drinks! We loved the southwest style pork tacos!
We will definitely be back.

I visited The Iron Oak Post last October during a karaoke night. As someone from Germany, I’m honestly not used to that much energy in a pub or bar. But in the best possible way, this experience completely won me over. The atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. What felt unfamiliar at first quickly turned into an unforgettable evening.
The drinks deserve a special mention, especially the beers. They taste great and offer an impressive variety of flavors. Of course, they’re different from what I know back home. But that’s exactly what made it exciting. Discovering so many unique styles and tastes was part of the fun and added to the overall experience.
I will definitely return this year. A fantastic bar with an incredible vibe and a truly memorable atmosphere.

I was really disappointed with my most recent visit to Iron Oak Post. I’ve been here before and enjoyed it, especially because they used to have a solid beer selection. This time, though, it felt like a completely different place. There are around 50 taps, but most of them were closed, and there were very few beer options available overall, which was frustrating.
The atmosphere was also uncomfortable. The owner, Derek, repeatedly went behind the bar holding drinks and shouted things out to the room. His behavior felt inappropriate and unprofessional, and it made several people around me visibly uncomfortable. On top of that, he sang karaoke on Thursday night, choosing a sad love song that dragged on and made the vibe awkward rather than fun.
Between the lack of drinks and the uncomfortable behavior from management, this visit was a major letdown compared to my previous experiences. Unfortunately, it’s not somewhere I’d feel comfortable returning to.
Update: Service was extremely slow. We only received one drink the entire time, and mine was a bottled drink. We also witnessed Derek speaking down to the bartender multiple times in front of customers, which was uncomfortable to watch and added to the negative experience.

Amazing place. Love the small venue for alternative bands. Great owners. All around a great vibe. Lucky to have a place this cool in Melbourne. They also do karaoke!

Arrived as they were closing but people still inside. They let us in for beers/ seltzer. Bartender wanted to go home. Funny we met her at another bar afterwards. Bar looks cool. The people we met there were really nice.

Fabulous new kitchen and menu!
Great spot to see local music, national acts, kareoke, open mic night.
If you are in need of a venue for a fundraising event, this is a great spot too.

We went for karaoke night. Had a blast. DJ was great. Service could be improved. Not enough bar tenders. Its loud, but its kareoke night so go to sing and dance.

We reached the bar shortly after it opened to pass the time. Since we visited right after a major event the previous night, their drink selection was somewhat restricted, yet still offered enough variety for us. Each of us found a mixed drink we enjoyed from their specialty list, and the bartender was fantastic. The ambiance was cozy, and we had a wonderful experience!

The smell from the kitchen was extremely unpleasant. The drinks were overpriced. 52 taps? More like 21. The acoustics were terrible and did I mention the stink coming from the kitchen? One and done. Don’t bother.
