We’re a husband and wife team bringing authentic Texas-style barbecue to the Jersey Shore. At Iron Oak Barbecue, everything is made with care, from slow-smoked meats to scratch-made sides and desserts. What started as a shared dream has become a true labor of love, built on long hours at the smoker and a deep respect for tradition. We hand-select our meats, tend our wood-fired pits daily, and take pride in doing things the right way. Whether you’re a local or just visiting LBI, we hope to become part of your shore tradition, one plate at a time.

The brisket was so tender, fall off the bone quality and super tasty! It’s safe to say I devoured everything!
The weather was beautiful and we knew we wanted to eat outside and the area was so peaceful. I would definitely go back when I vacation again to LBI.
Food portions are perfect. Food is tasty and seasoned super well. Priced well.
You need to try the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork.
Shoutout to the massive corn bread
Couldn’t decide which meat to have… so we ordered the three meat platter with three sides. Plus added one more.
Platter included spare ribs, pulled pork and brisket.
We got the baked beans, Mac & cheese, coleslaw and added cornbread as an extra side.
The platter was huge and plenty for two. We got 4 spare ribs, large portion of pulled pork and 2 hearty slices of brisket.
My favorite was the spare ribs. Very tasty with the KC sauce.
The brisket was good but was not thinly sliced. Although Definitely delicious.
The pulled pork was good… seasoned with plenty of black pepper… not my favorite
The sides were also delightful. Coleslaw was fresh, Mac and cheese tasty… my favorite was the beans… they added brisket to the beans.. omg delicious!!! Cornbread was right out if the oven.. yum…
They gave us all 3 sauces.. Carolina mustard, Alabama white and KC classic. For me the KC was the best… my friend liked the Carolina mustard more so it depends on your taste buds.
We then ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs to take home.
Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a go to when I’m in town for sure.
From the moment I walked into Iron Oak Barbecue Company in Beach Haven, I knew I was in for something special. The aroma of slow-smoked meats — hickory, white oak, cherry wood — hit me right away, and every bite lived up to the promise.
The brisket plate was a standout. Perfect bark, smoked for hours, rich and tender without being greasy. The pulled pork was just as impressive — juicy, flavorful, and clearly done right.
The honey butter cornbread might be the best I’ve ever had — thick, slightly crisp on the edges, and slathered in warm honey butter. The sides were no afterthought either: creamy mac and cheese, smoky brisket pit beans, and coleslaw that actually had crunch and flavor.
What really pushed it over the top was the selection of house-made sauces — each one bringing a different angle, from sweet and tangy to bold and spicy. You can tell they take their craft seriously.
Staff was friendly and quick, and the setting inside Schooner’s Wharf gives it a great local, beach-town vibe. You can taste the care and technique in every bite.
If you’re anywhere near LBI, this is the BBQ spot you don’t want to miss. I’ll absolutely be back.
