Great local restaurant. Visiting family and they were able to accommodate all of us. Love to old decor. Had the special prime rib. Very good and moist. Huge salad bar with soup.

From the seafood manicotti to the seafood mariscotta to the white chocolate blueberry cheesecake or the maple creme brulee….this restaurant in Castleton Vermont gets 5 Golden Forks to quote my good friend Angelo !!
The service was excellent and very interactive with everyone… I highly recommend if you are ever in thethe area….oh and by the way, the salad & holmemade bread bar are incredible !!

Very good food. You’ll have to have the scallops. The scallops were cooked to perfection. Great place to have a nice dinner.

The food was traditional American fare, friendly staff and the salad bar was great.
I would go back just for the salad bar, but the prime rib was excellent.
It felt like a community dining destination, there were couples of all ages and lots of larger parties too. The bar area had a singer warming up as we were leaving. We would like to have stayed but wanted to be back to watch sunset from our hotel porch.

It’s not fancy, but the food was good. This is the first salad bar I’ve seen where they had shrimp cocktail! I’m normally not the kind of person that goes for places with salad bars (in fact, I tend to shy away from them), but this salad bar is notable for it’s variety. I had the seafood pasta with a cream sauce. The flavors were excellent, but there was way too much sauce. They had a very nice selection of beers on tap.

Amazing food!! So many delicious seafood dishes to pick from. The best salad bar we’ve seen in a LONG time! Both my little kids have Celiac Disease and they accommodated them above and beyond! The whole staff is kind and helpful. We look forward to our next visit!

I had been here years ago and had a miserable experience but decided to give them another shot. The service and the salad bar are good but I ordered a surf and turf which is a petite steak and scallops. The scallops where good. The steak, which I admittedly ordered medium rare, came out blackened on the outside and raw, I mean raw, on the inside. I waited about 10 minutes to let my server know I would need it to be cooked a bit more. I did say, “I know I ordered medium rare but….” she replied “yeah that’s blue!” She was kind enough to leave the rest of my meal so I could enjoy it while hot! Too late! Then brought back the steak more charbroiled on the outside and slightly more cooked on the inside. When asked how it was I said “well,I am not going to send it back again but I also won’t be eating it!” She did offer a cup of coffee or scoop of ice cream. Which is I’m sure all she could offer being just the server. Again the service was good but the food, not so much.

Had a very nice dinner yesterday evening. Everything was fresh and tasted good to excellent, and plenty of it. You can’t beat the value too. Salad, soup, and bread bar were fresh and had everything you could wish for. The back bar area has a pub atmosphere which is what we like. Definitely going back. The rating I gave should be about a 3 1/ 2 stars but didn’t have that option.

Very nice small town restaurant. Excellent food. Never disappointed here. A slight bit pricier than it could be, but the quality is definitely there, so it’s not a deal breaker. Soup, salad, and bread bar are the best around. One of our favorite restaurants.
