We visit Durand, we stop at the lron Horse Pub.My Sister had Escargot and Clams, her boyfriend had smelt, very delicious! They have a good drink selection and menu to choose from. Spaghetti special one day and fish on Friday. They have a salad bar to, nice bar area and plenty of seating for a group of people. You can play Keno & pull tabs, quiet atmosphere nice staff!

I appreciated the old school bar experience such as the salad bar, pull tabs, and paneling. Food was a great value! The overhead lighting could be improved with fixtures or pendants that diffuse the light.

Walked in 2 hours before close. Sat for 15 minutes and was never greeted. Bartender and waitress acknowledges us multiple times not sure if they just didn’t want to serve us because they closed in 2 hours ( plenty of time before closing). The bartender was older and seemed like she just wanted to talk to the people at the bar.

Our server was very busy, but found time for us. The food was delicious and hot. It was very busy, but not too long for a wait to get our food. Tuesday and Friday are Karaoke night. There were 22 people in a rotation and all were very good. If you are looking for good food and entertainment, drive to Durand and enjoy the night.

Ordered take out. 6 burgers. My mushroom and Swiss burger had no cheese on it. We got about 4 fries a piece with our order. Absolutely disappointed. At least the waitress was nice.

The Iron Horse is a place of my childhood. My family lived in the area, so I grew up being brought in here as a child, and teen by my mother, and grandparents. My mom even worked here at one time. The place holds lot’s of nostalgia for me. I haven’t been in atleast may 19 years. So passing through, my sister and I decided we should bring my daughters to try, and check out how the old place is holding up.first of all, I’m 41, and the place looks exactly the same as it did as far as I can remember! I love that! There was Karaoke happening. We enjoyed that. The waitress was very kind, but not as attentive as I would hope. We did sit for long periods without dirty dishes being removed, and drinks being refilled. We always had to stop her and ask. We had around a $160 bill between 5 of us. That does include 3 appetizers, and a 30 oz prime rib. The prime rib was cooked perfectly medium, and thrown on the grill for that char flavor. It was great. But the sides are very, very small portions, as well as very small portions for the appetizers. I never received my bread with my order. My sister and I did get the salad bar with our entrée. I was disappointed in only having one lettuce option. But the buffet was very clean and looked fresh. I really enjoyed having a cottage cheese option on the buffet. And the apple sauce was spectacular! Overall the food with portion sizes for the price being so small, and the food quality from the kitchen not being as great as I remember, I probably won’t travel out of my way to spend my money here again. But thank you for all of the great memories growing up Iron Horse!

Mom and dad would meet me at the Iron Horse Saloon for dinner. Once known as the restaurant that never closed, we could rely on the saloon to always be open, always ready to cook dinner. One time, mom and dad drove out to meet me. Dad arrived with a crumpled fender because a deer had jumped out in front of the car. It was an act of nature kind of accident, but I felt responsible for drawing my parents out on a night when the deer herd was active.
