Excellent food and service. The chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were on point( I’m from Texas so I know).
I enjoyed the squash casserole, also. The Coke Zero was refreshing!! The hostess was friendly and I enjoyed a wonderful conversation with her. You will have a good meal here.

The warm ambiance, nice music, friendly service, and good food make for a pleasant dining experience. I had the pleasure of visiting for breakfast. Lots of options to choose from. I finally decided on the Iron Fork platter which includes two big pancakes, two eggs, two slices of bacon, and a patty sausage. Along with cheese grits, grilled potatoes, and a side of country ham, the table was full of yummy deliciousness! Reasonably priced also. I forgot my server’s name, but she was a ray of sunshine with a very bubbly attitude! They serve lunch and dinner on different days so please check before you go. Also, have a small bar.

This was truly a great experience. The service was almost home-like. You definitely have to try the fried green tomatoes. Home cooking with lots of vegetables that taste Garden fresh. One of the best kept secrets at the lake. But not to the locals. They KNOW where to go.

My mom and I had the pleasure of dining in for lunch on Friday. The food was great and our waitress was amazing. We felt a great positive vibe as soon as we stepped foot in the door. The fried green tomatoes and squash casserole was on point and cooked just right. And I also noticed that the owner, Ms. Katie was working just as hard and as much as her employees. And that u don’t see often. Thank you for the great hospitality and we will be coming back.

We stopped at Iron Fork for a business lunch and overall had a pleasant experience. The parking lot is spacious, so finding a spot was not a problem. We called ahead to inform them of our group size, and were seated promptly upon arrival.

The service started out a little shaky but improved as the meal progressed. The food was reasonably priced and good quality. I particularly appreciated the salad, which had a generous portion of protein. The shrimp tacos were well-made and didn’t fall apart, and the sandwiches were a hit with our group.

Don’t miss out on the desserts – the cake, banana pudding, and molten lava cake with ice cream were all incredible.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch today, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The food and the service were exemplary, and the whole dining experience was perfect. It was pretty crowded, as I’m sure it always is, but we only waited a very short time. This is only my second visit to the Iron Fork Cafe, but trust me, it won’t be the last. My wife and I are already looking forward to the next trip.

We stopped in while we were in the area. The restaurant had an outdoor seating area so we opted to enjoy our lunch there. We ordered loaded fries and fried pickles for the table to share. The fries were delicious. The fried pickles were chunks but the ratio surprisingly worked. We were pleased with the side salad which included crisp lettuce. We also ordered the chicken fingers with Brussels sprouts and slaw. The chicken was good, the sprouts were absolutely amazing, and the slaw had a good flavor but was a little on the dry side. Overall it was a refreshing find of a lunch spot.

Stopped in during a weekend stay on Lake Oconee. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff was amazing! Abby M did a phenomenal job on assisting us with the items on the menu. My husband got the shrimp tacos, and I got the salmon. The collard greens could use a little bit more seasoning, and the salmon could have been cooked a little longer but that is just my opinion. My husband loved his shrimp tacos.

2022-10 update: Still a great place for food, and service are excellent. We had lunch today that included a chef salad, loaded chez fries, and a hamburger steak with fried okra and squash casserole. Parking is readily available. Nice atmosphere and a very quaint bar at the entrance.

2020 review: Great restaurant. Although it’s located in a shopping center you would never know it looking out with the trellis patio, hanging plants and trees. The modern farmhouse feel inside feels more like a resort. Food was southern and delicious. I had a Hamburger steak topped with onions and gravy, mashed potato casserole green beans and a piece of the best corn bread I have had. My wife had a sour dough grilled cheese with and the same mashed potatoes casserole. We finished by sharing a piece of buttermilk pie. Separate room for 24 and a small wine and beer bar complete the restaurant. Service was outstanding.

2018-7 Update. Still great food, service and atmosphere. Lunches will run you a little more than $10. My 1/2 rack of ribs ($16) was “fall off the bone” tender.

2020-2 Update. The restaurant is open for breakfast from 9-11am. Menu is limited but supplement with specials on a chalkboard at the entrance. All items are excellent as is the service and pricing.
