Food was on point(taste wise). Service was NOT.
Food didn’t come out as ordered. My fiance ordered a chicken burrito with the lettuce and pico inside instead of on the side, it did not. And it was pork, not chicken. I got the shredded beef, it tastes fantastic. But when they delivered our food, they mixed up the plates. Different person delivered our food, different person pre-buased our table. Waitress didn’t even check on us to tell her the food was wrong til he was 3/4 of the way done eating.
Will prob give them another shot and hope for a different server.

This is our go to place when we get our family together we’ve got some members that are always gonna request Erma’s tacos and everybody likes it. The only thing I could say is that my mom uses a walker and those small metal chairs don’t give her much support she needs to like hold onto the chair when she gets up but the food is great

Shari and I had lunch today at Irma’s Taco & Tequila Bar in North Port FL. Its located in the Wellen Park area. Quite easy to locate. We both loved the vibes of the place! We meant to eat here earlier but our day locations got in the way but today it just fell into place.
The area is quite open and airy, very clean fresh feel to the restaurant. Our server was very nice and accommodating. I ordered Ice Water w Lemon & Lime and so did Shari but she also ordered a Berry-Rita mixed drink with lovely plumb blackberries.
I added a Margaritaville Strawberry Diaquori water enhancement package to my water Zero Sugar 5 Calories.
Shari ordered the Carne Asada Taco and A Ground Beef Taco adding Chorizo w a side of Queso Cheese Dip. I ordered the Carne Asada Taco also and a Grilled Mahi but with the toppings of the Al Pastor toppings. They let me switch the proteins around which was very nice! I also ordered chips and salsa for $4 because unfortunately they are not gratuitous like most Mexican cuisine restaurants !
The food was amazing! We both chose the corn tortillas over the flour option. But here you are given the lettuce option as well and they do offer vegan tacos too! They offer a taco called Ophelia that is Black Bean based w some yummy toppings but I knew 2 tacos was more than plenty for me.
I was able to eat about 3/4 of my Mahi Taco and picked at some Carne Asada Protein on the 2nd one but I was full. I did eat a few chips because the salsa was thick and AMAZING!! Shari said her Queso was quite good too…I’m not a queso fan!
Definitely would go back. Highly recommend ! 5 stars from me!

We spent a date night at Irma’s and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and fun, the food was excellent and the drinks were great. We really enjoyed our date night and will be back soon! The birria tacos are phenomenal. Don’t forget to read their “about us” section on the menu!

Their specialty is supposed to be tacos but there’s nothing special about it. My tortillas for my 3 tacos were all burnt sadly. My husband ordered the Nashville chicken taco and it was like they used frozen chicken to cook it so it wasn’t too good. Honestly tacos shouldn’t be what they price them for if they can’t make feel authentic or taste like Mexican tacos at all. I’ve had way better ones at a taco truck without being all fancy and loud with music. Super overpriced and not worth it.

We came here by accident. I’m very glad we did. This place was awesome. Great menu reasonably priced with a nice atmosphere. Good background music and everything wasn’t too loud. The food was top-notch. I can’t wait to try more so I will definitely be coming here again.

I have been looking for good Tacos around Venice for years!!
Well, look no more! Irma’s has brought the goods. I had 1 carnita taco and a taco with beef and lamb, which they call a Birria Taco. Fresh corn tortillas that were a foodie attraction all by themselves. Both were absolutely delicious and brought back memories of our journey to East LA and thinking we had had the best there was. Irma’s is a legitimate rival. I can hardly wait to go back with friends and try some of the other tacos on their menu, they all sounded just as delicious as what I tried. This place is worth the drive.

This used to be a great spot, but now the kids that run it have made it a great place to avoid. Service sucks even when its not busy, the wanna be bartender tries to be a server so he can make more $ but only makes things worse. Then you have all the boyfriend girlfriend drama that makes it even worse!
