We have been here several times and always have good friendly service and great food.
Here are the items we have tried so far and all have been great.
Appetizers:
– Spinach & Artichoke Dio
– Breaded Wisconsin Cheese Curds
– Irish Chimichanga
– Irish Wings
– Fried Pickle Spears
– Nacho Grande
Meals:
– Corned Beef Boxty
– Irish Chicken Fried Chicken
– Cod Boxty
– Fish & Chips (Highly recommend)
– Shepherd’s Pie
– The Reuben
– Barnyard Burger
– Olive Burger
– Kid’s Chicken Tenders
Had a few of their specialty drinks and really liked them. Rock-n-Rye was one of them. The person who came up with it was our waiter last time, I tried a few more of the mixed drinks he came up with and they were good but I do not recall the names.
We have also been here for Booze N’ Brunch, Karaoke and live band and had a good time for that as well.
They also have a rewards card that we signed up for. We will for sure be back again and again.

I recently stopped by the Irish Tavern in Madison Heights after a comedy show in Royal Oak, and overall, it was a great way to cap off the night. I was pleasantly surprised there was no cover charge and plenty of seating at the bar, which made it easy to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere. The lively karaoke scene brought in a diverse crowd, and it was clear that everyone was having a fantastic time.
The bartender was incredibly accommodating, and she took the time to point out the late-night food menu. That tip led us to try the corned beef sandwich with an enormous side of mashed potatoes, as well as the fish and chips—both of which were excellent. We were so impressed by the generous portions that we even ended up taking some food home later in the night.
Drinks were reasonably priced and there was an impressive selection of beers available, which added to the overall appeal of the tavern. The decor is stylish and the open layout creates a welcoming vibe that makes it a great spot to relax and unwind.
While I enjoyed my visit and would happily return, the reason for the four stars instead of a full five is that there’s always a little room for improvement in service speed during peak times. Still, if you’re on this side of town and looking for a fun, friendly atmosphere with solid food and drink options, the Irish Tavern is definitely worth checking out.

Husband and I are from Ohio but were up in the area for a book signing. We had some time to kill so we stopped here. Our server, who also took care of the bar, was friendly and attentive. There was a man who brought my soup (not sure if he’s the owner) who was also friendly with a nice sense of humor. I had the spicy cabbage soup. It was delicious! Our only complaint, which is trivial, is the country music that was playing. Ugh. The worst. Husband played some Dropkick on the juke though. An Irish pub should be playing Irish or Irish adjacent music. Other than that, definitely check this place out!

We met a friend as a recommendation while being back in town (a little over a week ago, late posting). We were going to try the craft beers but they were a bit expensive so we went with the $3 well whiskey and coke. They were pretty good, price was great. We ate the pretzels and cheese and the cheese looked dry and reheated however it tasted pretty good. The pretzels were fluffy and soft and enjoyable. Overall way better experience than expected from the first impression of the outside. The lady working was nice and also enjoyable.

The killians Irish red beer was pretty good. My bf and I tried their loaded potato soup and chili, loved the toppings on the potato soup. The deep fried pickle spears were hot but delicious. My bf enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and I had ordered the loaded Irishman burger, each came with seasoned fries! To say the least we ordered to much food between the two of us. Everything was good and now we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. They had great music and a good trivia game going on. Our waitress was nice but disappeared towards the end of our meal, not sure what happened but other servers were taking care of us in the meantime until she came back to give us the check.

Didn’t realize there was a cover for St. Patrick’s Day which tells you how long it’s been since I’ve gone to an Irish spot on the day itself. There was a rocking cover band inside and a DJ set up outside in the tent. Drinks were great, food was amazing with the limited menu & so many people having a great time! Now I’m ready for a power nap ☘️
