This place is a taste of my childhood… except even better than that. Quite honestly, this is my favorite Italian restaurant in the world. It’s not fancy, it’s family. It’s one of the few family OPERATED places left. The restaurant scene has become a formulaic wasteland of franchises, gimmicks, poor service, increasing prices, and constant disappointment. I eat out a lot, and I can tell you that much more often than not, a 4+ star restaurant on here will end up being more style than substance. I frequently overpay for ambiance, plating, and mediocre small portions. I stumble along, thirsting for real homemade recipes, prepared and served by real people who actually care what their food tastes like. This is my oasis. Absolutely delicious tasting homemade Italian food made by a real family that cares about the quality and taste of their food, as well as their customer’s satisfaction. Fresh and consistent food. Bread, dough, desserts, sauces, everything is homemade. Who still has scungilli, tripa, and manicotti on the menu? They do, and it’s all fantastic. Pasta is cooked to perfection. Veal parm sub, meatballs, eggplant, manicotti, risotto… all fantastic. Pizza, consistent. You don’t have to worry about having a great pie one night, and a floppy mess the next. It’s consistently great. And on top of all this wonderful food, you get to know a wonderful family that you can’t help liking. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. If you live anywhere close and you don’t, you’re missing out. Please support family joints like this and share them with your own family. It’s getting increasingly harder for family-run, small businesses like this to survive in this world. You deserve real food, and they won’t be here forever…

My daughter and her boyfriend just moved into the area and we ordered food here and I had to come on here before the day was over to say that the food was beyond amazing! Three pies and only 1 slice left over (for tomorrow lol) and I also ordered a cold antipasto salad that was by far the most amazing one that I have had ANY where! I know what I will be ordering everytime I’m there visiting lol even if I’m not hungry I’ll order it and take it home! Take note: Cold antipasto “DELISH” Pizza was also amazing! We ordered a plain pie, a pepperoni pie and a Margherita pie !!! 5 stars!!!

I had to do some business in lakewood and I looked around for a local pizzeria and what I found was a diamond in the rough. The service and the food was exceptional. From the moment I walked in to ordering my food I felt at home. I am not sure of the name of the cheese slice I ordered with sesame seeds but I want to order a whole pie! Thank you guys for being magicians in the kitchen and providing exceptional service. Do you guys sell a pie of this slice? I will make the 1 hour commute just for this alone.

They’re the best around! Really good food made by really good people. When I’m craving Italian food but I’m not in town, I’ll still take the drive over there because I know it’s worth it and it feels good to support an awesome, kind family as well. Thank you Ippolito’s

No matter when my family and I come in we are always treated like family. From the good conversation with the staff to the amazing food being prepared. My go-to slice is the Italian sandwich slice. If you don’t know what I mean call and ask about it. It’s not always on the menu but when it is I’m sure to order two. My wife she gets either the bruschetta slice or a plan with a chickenparm garlic knot sandwich. And as for my son he loves his plan slice cut into squares.
If you are looking for a place with amazing food and great people to be around. Stop on and say hi.

After moving to Manchester, NJ in January 2016, finally got to stop by here for a very nice lunch.
It consisted of Antipasto, Garlic Cheese Bread and a Large Pomodoro Pizza.
Another variation of an Upside Down – Trenton Style Pizza.
Their spin appears to be a mixed blend of delicious cheese’s and of course a very tasty tomato sauce on top with a Sesame Seed Crust.
Pizza was very crisp, how I like it.
We finished the meal with a freshly made zeppole dusted with fine powdered sugar.
Perfect ending to our meal.

Made another visit for same slices.
After getting a haircut at a local Barber for the first time since Covid-19 started, stopped in for some Friday Lunch Slices!!!
Today’s choices were 3 Pomodoro, 1 Sausage and 1 Italian Hotdog.
The Pomodoro is cheese down first, marinara sauce, garlic and a sesame seed crust.
The Italian Hotdog was a white pizza, cheese, sliced hotdog, potato slices, pepper and onions.
All slices were delicious!!!

The warm welcome they gave to me as a stranger, leading up to ordering my food and watching what was being served… I fell in love with this restaurant after eating the food. The clientele in the restaurant call Ippolito’s a best kept secret in Lakewood. Finally an Italian restaurant that is 100% old fashioned quality. Their reputation is only second to their food.

The calzone slice was fantastic! You’ve heard of stuffed crust, this was a stuffed slice with ricotta, a drop of olive oil and a few drops of sauce/gravy. Great meeting the owner.
