This place has the BEST Asian food ever! I highly recommend it! Make sure to plan ahead for dinner, as they can get pretty busy. There’s indoor and outdoor seating ️, and the atmosphere is great. The food was fantastic , and the service was excellent too. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. I’d definitely go back! Highly Recommend!! We love going here! It’s definitely one of the best restaurants in Wilmington ️ .

We had a solid experience here! The exterior is very neat and interesting—definitely make time to stop by the little gift shop for some cool trinkets.

The Good: We were told the wait for a party of two would be 45 minutes, but we were seated in under 10! Our waiter, Aidan, was the highlight of the night. He was incredibly knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and gave us excellent suggestions. We also really enjoyed the Lusty Mango and Purple Dragon drinks. The noodles were great Thai hot chef kiss.

The Not-so-Good: Be prepared to park in the dirt lot. Food-wise, the sampler was a bit of a letdown. The chicken satay was bland (even the sauces couldn’t fix it), and the spring rolls had an overpowering basil flavor, though they were tolerable once we pulled some of the herbs out. Overall, it was pretty decent.

So the main purpose of this 4-hour drive was to finally try this very Instagrammable restaurant that looked incredibly authentic online. We endured the long wait for a table, and unfortunately couldn’t get outdoor seating because it was raining. Still, I walked around the area—and that part alone was something I truly appreciated.

The aesthetics are beautiful. The traditional huts representing different towns and cities in Thailand were thoughtfully done. The koi pond was stunning, the lanterns vibrant and eye-catching, and the Buddhist statues placed around the restaurant really added to the sense of authenticity. Visually, they absolutely nailed it.

However, once the food arrived, I was honestly disappointed. I expected the food to be just as authentic and flavorful as the setting. While the appetizer was good, I had higher expectations for the Pad Thai, especially since this is considered a staple of traditional Thai cuisine. It came without peanuts or lime on the side—I had to request both, along with fish sauce. Even then, the dish tasted bland, lacking depth and character.

My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken, which we expected to be the classic mix of chicken, vegetables, and rice in a balanced sweet-tangy sauce. Instead, it came out more like chicken pops with a very small portion of sweet and sour sauce and a bit of capsicum—far from what we anticipated.

It’s a bit sad, honestly. So much effort was clearly invested into creating a beautiful, authentic atmosphere. I just wish the food matched the experience. With such an incredible setting, authentic Thai flavors would have truly completed the journey.

10/10, this place is a FORCE of a restaurant! It has EVERYTHING going for it! Firstly, the atmosphere was beautiful from the first impressions of walking up to it. Natural plants, tasteful decorations, inviting seating, just wonderful. Only disappointment was a +1hr wait for a table, but on a Saturday Night for such an amazing experience, that is more than forgiven. Service, wonderfully provided by Jenn (actually probably Gin), was awesome! Nice, friendly, and a perfect medium of attentive without being overbearing. Food was DELICIOUS (you have to order the appetizer sampler – trust). Hot noodles were our favorite entree. For dessert, the creme brulee was good not great. Probably lower in the top 10 of creme brulee we’ve had.

TLDR: As long as you’re not allergic, GO. It’s worth whatever the wait.

Update: Went again, had a just as good time inside! Roasted Duck Red Curry was sooo delicious, and they have probably our favorite chocolate cake!

The atmosphere and service was fantastic!!! Our server was super fun and helpful, we bought a cake to celebrate and they kept it in back for us and brought it out at the end of the meal. While waiting to be seated I highly recommend exploring around the restaurant as there is so much to see. The food was amazing bit different than the Thai food we are familiar with, I wasn’t wowed by it but it wasn’t bad either. I would definitely come back and try something new.

We drove over five hours to dine here, mainly for the outdoor seating and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience started a bit rocky. The hostess who greeted us wasn’t particularly friendly, and after requesting outdoor seating, we ended up waiting nearly an hour—only for the rain to force the patio to close. We were eventually seated indoors in a separate section from the main dining area at a half-booth table that felt cramped for six adults. Also, be aware the restaurant only has one restroom stall per gender, so lines can form.

On the positive side, our waiter was outstanding, fast, friendly, and very accommodating. The sweet and sour chicken was excellent, with a sauce that was among the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp and scallops were tasty, though they could have used a bit more sear. We sampled a few desserts, and every one of them was fantastic. Overall, the food not only looked great but also delivered on flavor.

I am a corporate pilot and find myself in Wilmington once or twice a year. I always eat at Indochine restaurant. I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of the owner and I offer my heartfelt condolences. I brought another Pilot with me today and was so excited to show him this place. Once again, It did not disappoint. I’ve tried the Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, and Pad See U. Today I tried the Yum Yum Chicken and it was amazing. The service was spot-on as usual. Thank you so much for another wonderful experience.

This place is an absolute gym! Seen it many times driving by went in Wilmington and decided to have dinner tonight and we had a relaxing enjoyable meal. That was delicious!
The dinner crowd was busy cars constantly rolling in the parking lot and even though we were quoted about 25 to 45 minutes wait time for patio seating we ended up being seated within the half hour. We spent that time at the bar sipping on custom Created Indo Asian While walking through the back patio garden, which was transformative! A little slice of Thailand. We tried several different dishes, including the Tom Ka soup, Pad Thai, Pad ka gao and a couple of different wraps. Everything was delicious. The prices were fair. The staff were super friendly our waitress Kaitlyn was friendly antenna and efficient we will definitely be going back here again. If you’re in Wilmington and like Thai food check this place out.

Three of us visited on Sunday Nov.16th at approx. 5:15 p.m. Had outdoor hut.

*APPS:
1) CALAMARI- Perfectly fried but bland and no marinara sauce (Thai sweet/sour sauce and also another sauce served).
2) CRAB ANGELS (AKA crab ragoons)- DELICOUS. Favorite thing we ordered.

*ENTREES:
1) SALMON- bland.
2) HOKKEIN HOT NOODLE BOWL- NOT SPICY HOT. Thick sweet sauce.
3) VIETNAMESE WRAPS- The meat on a stick was good and that’s about it.
There were 3 of us and no one said “this is soooo good” etc…I could see the disappointment on their faces.

*COCKTAILS:
1) NAGA KNOCKOUT- Watery and bland. 2) PURPLE DRAGON-Watery, bland, and zero sweetness.

*SERVICE:
Not once asked how things tasted. Never refilled the 2 cokes but he did refill my tea. He was not engaging and was impatient. I saw 3 servers outside and saw none of them conversing with the customers. They did not smile or act happy.
He did know the menu well and offered suggestions.
Appetizers came out quickly. Entrees took approx. 30 minutes and were luke warm.

*ATMOSPHERE: Dazzling, peaceful (lots of noisy children though), fairy-like, romantic…Beautiful coy in pond with food available to feed them.
String lights not working where we were seated.
About 15 minutes from closest beach and 7 minutes to the Riverwalk.

*PRICE: $127 + 20% tip = $151

Would only return if in the area (live 2hrs away) because of the relaxing outdoor environment. AND, would only get appetizers, soup or salad. NO to the entrees
