Greeted with a smile upon entry. Atmosphere warm and inviting. Passing plates of tables here before us everything looked and smelled good.
Vijay was our waiter. Service was amazing. My water was never empty. Empty plates always cleared. He checked on us several times, and always had a smile.
The food was great too:
I got the rack of lamb medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The flavor of the spices on the lamb and the mint sauce paired well. Our table shared the Tikka Masala—has a great flavor—Butter Chicken was comforting and pleasant.
The chef Pritam delivered on excellent food. We will be back.

We went to this Indian restaurant some time back and wow everything was beyond amazing. The food was so flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can tell they use quality ingredients and care about what they serve. The restaurant itself was super clean and had such a cozy, welcoming vibe.
Everyone was so polite, attentive, and genuinely kind and hospitality oriented. It was honestly made the whole experience even fantastic. We’ll definitely be going back soon. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good food, great service, and a clean, classy spot to dine!

Tried this restaurant for the first time today, very disappointed in the taste and portions of their food!! We ordered apps, entrees and asked for some raw onions with chicken entree…… without informing or asking us , they charged us $3.00 in the final bill for couple of slices of raw onions and that also , they gave us when we were done eating half our lunch !! What a waste!!!
The portions are so small , specially of chilly chicken appetizer, it was unbelievable!! The chicken fried rice we ordered, tasted awful , nothing like Indian Chinese fusion at all…..the restaurant was empty except 2 more customers besides us on a Saturday afternoon .
The restaurant is big in a weird way with very weird scattered seating which made us not enjoy the ambience at all!
All in all, this restaurant is far below average and we won’t be going there again to waste our money !! This was our first and definitely our last time!!! Far more better Indian restaurants exist around this area!!!

Safe fresh Indian food. Not for real Indian food lovers. This is where you bring people who are hesitant to try Indian food. The flavors are present but muted. The food is very fresh though. The Mango Avocado salad was surprisingly delicious. Everything else was solid but not super flavorful and not spicy. They brought out their spicy sauce with a warning “be careful this is very hot” and it was barely medium. We got the orange sauce fried shrimp appetizer and the verdict was the same: fresh but muted flavors. Lovely service. Great prices!

My birthday dinner was amazing, it came very quickly to the table as well. It was tasty with very large portion sizes so we had enough to take away. Vijay was our server and he was very pleasant and attentive. Would highly recommend this spot. Will definitely revisit when in Alexandria.

Oh my word. I came to Indochen Old Town the other day just because I was hungry, but the real treat was my waiter Nico. He is the best waiter service I have ever had the pleasure of serving me. He was incredibly polite, attentive, and delivered the food fast. He checked in frequently and kindly, even though it seemed like it was his first day he was the best waiter I’ve ever met. If I was his boss, I would be very proud! Now to the food: the butter chicken I ordered was amazing! Very creamy and delicious! My only problem was that the Garlic Naan tasted almost like it was instant made but it still was good. Thank you Indochen Old Town and thank you Nico! I hope to come again soon.

Had the pleasure of visiting this establishment today and was not disappointed. I’ve been craving Indian food for about a month but couldn’t decide where to go. On a whim I picked Indochen and it was perfect timing as it is currently restaurant week. For $30 I got to choose a starter, entree and dessert. I had the pork belly, chicken vindaloo and gulab jamun.
Pork belly -9/10
Chicken Vindaloo (spicy) but just enough spice for me just needed a little bit more salt. -8/10
Gulab Jamun- 10/10 -very warm and sweet-perfect for those with a sweet tooth.
Guava cocktail- wasn’t strong as I would prefer but still delicious. 8/10
The atmosphere was very modern and fresh. My server/ bartender RIYA was exceptional and hospitable.
