So happy that we have an Indonesian restaurant in town. Had the pleasure to try a variety of their offerings as we had a party of six and everyone ordered different items. For appetizer we had Murtabak and grilled fish in banana leaf. Both were outstanding with distinctive Indonesian flavor palette. For entrees we had deep fried soft shell crab, Nasi Goreng gila, Jakarta beef soup, lamb curry and Padang style rice combo that had beef rendang. All dishes were beautifully presented and had unique and authentic taste and flavor. The biggest disappointment was that all the red meat was hard to chew. Beef in rendang should melt in your mouth, instead it was chewy, same for beef in jakarta soup and lamb in the curry. While I am glad they are able to create authentic taste but they need to cook the meat softer, maybe use pressure cooker hack if needed. Texture is just as important as the taste.

This Indonesian restaurant surprised us. Trying new cuisine is always an adventure and it was a pleasant experience. The service was excellent. Got seated right away, server was very attentive and gave us food suggestions that we loved. The plus point is that there is a separate cute bakery cafe space that offers gelato, sweet and savory pastries, bubble waffles and variety of desserts.

All I can say is WOW! Used to be Ming’s Garden with the same owner. Super clean and elegantly decorated restaurant. Found out they also have cakes and pies available in their display cases! Ordered the Crazy Wild Fried Rice because it started out saying spicy. Hubby had the Javanese Fried Rice. Presentation was spot on and definitely great portions per order. Awesome flavors throughout. Love the robotic cart that brings the food out.

The ambience of the restaurant was also a highlight—warm, comfortable, and perfect for enjoying a good meal. Overall, a great dining experience. Highly recommended!

First time trying Indonesian food, and it was delicious! They do have a robot bring the food but the server hands you everything. Very attentive, and patient, happy to give recommendations! Give them a try! Will be back!!

We ate dinner here on Saturday and it was awesome! For full disclosure. we were celebrating our daughter-in-law’s birthday and she is Indonesian, so we had our own personal food guide. I had the Murtabak (stuffed flatbread appetizer) and the Javanese fried rice. The food was delicious and the portions were ample. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the facilities were very clean. Our only issue was that the owner was short on staff, but the wait was reasonable. We even had a robot deliver our food, which our grandson loved! Two thumbs up and would highly recommend giving them a try.

Absolutely loved this place. They have so much to offer. The Nasi Bakul and the Beef Satay were perfectly cooked and well seasoned . The Combo Rice Padang has lots of flavor and cooked with the perfect amount of seasoning . Indo Bistro & Grill is the only Indonesian restaurant in Alabama that serves the most authentic Indonesian cuisines. The “traditional” snacks ( Jajan Pasar) were very delicious. The tiramisu was incredible. Great dining experience! Will be back! Highly recommended! Give this place a try!

01/31/2026….The food was amazing. Chicken satay, Sup Buntut, Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, and the Beef Rendang is a must try. The atmosphere as well as the decor was perfect. We will be back, gotta try the deserts, you had all of my favorites.
