I’ve been in these restaurants many times and enjoy it a lot. I still thinking the food is good. But is true that misleading the costumers with a 15 % service charge (that is not optional) doesn’t matter if is a take out is not right. They said is not to increase the price. I feel these increase the price. The easiest way for you to really know the price of any meal is every 20 dollars put 5 extra = 25 and tells you the real price of a meal.
When you think that everything it would be 25 % (service charge + taxes) plus that what you see in the menu you can make a better decision if you want to eat there.
I ended paying 26 dollars for one dish take away and no drink and they didn’t put the cutlery It seems the service charge doesn’t include these service.

This place was absolutely amazing, i’ve been meaning to go here for ages and it did not disappoint. The prices are a bit high, but it’s DC and the food is incredible.
We got the spicy keema curry and the Indigo special, both of which were incredibly flavorful and delicious. Spice level is manageable and quite enjoyable. The mango lassi was also superb.
I wish I had asked for plain rice, I didn’t realize that the rice would come with a chickpea sauce thing on top, but I blame that on user error rather than the restaurant.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is so nice at night. Seat yourself, order on the phone. The bartender is an artist!! Delicious food. Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Everything Vegan is clearly labeled. Could not recommend more on a summer night!

Excellent food but not the best place ive been. really good portion. I wasn’t a fan of having chickpeas with my rice. It was good but I rather not have them. I can’t give a 4 star because prices are still a little too high for me and the side sauces from inside aren’t the best
Nice size place that seems to always be busy most the time. You order from a QR code and get drinks from the bar. Drinks are also up there. It might be a DC thing, but yeah. Menu is pretty basic to what you expect for a Indian restaurant but the do have a bunch a different types of naan.
Other than food, it seems like an expensive place to get drinks. If it’s in your budget for a $14 mix drink and a $8 beer, then good on you. I also didn’t get a options to leave a cash tip. I think it’s automatic?

I ordered a Chicken Tikka Meal and it was tasty, but the Nepalese food at home was even better flavorwise. The butter chicken was creamy and filling. Flavors at Himalayan Range are still better for that as well. The service was okay, mostly self-serve. I didn’t give it 5 stars because everything was disposable. The mango lassi was good, a little too rich for my taste. This just confirms that I’m spoiled at home with our authentic Nepalese cuisine.

Ambient place but food can be much better. They usually make less spicy so everyone can eat. But some dishes were bland and have no taste. I hope they can increase a little spice level and make dishes more flavourful. Overall experience is good.

Went here on a whim with my girlfriend and it was more than lovely. The atmosphere was perfect to match the perfect portion sizes — I couldn’t have shown up more hungry and I was almost able to finish the entire chicken tikka masala meal minus a few bites. You also seat yourself, order off the QR code and they bring it right to your table. They charge you a service fee which is reasonable and understandable, and tipping on top of that is completely optional. The drinks were exceptional. I ordered the Wild Rose and my girlfriend got the Good Vibes drink. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back anytime I visit or pass through DC.

Indigo restaurant in Washington DC offers a delightful culinary experience with its perfect blend of authentic Indian flavors and a cozy ambiance. Located in a bustling part of the city, it captures the essence of Indian cuisine with finesse.
The food at Indigo is undeniably delicious, showcasing a genuine Indian touch that stands out. The paneer dishes are particularly noteworthy, with a rich and flavorful taste that satisfies the palate. The chickpea rice is another highlight, perfectly complementing the main courses with its aromatic blend of spices.
The ambiance of the restaurant adds to the overall dining experience, exuding good vibes and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The decor is tastefully done, enhancing the dining pleasure without overpowering the senses. In summer it does get hot during the day. It’s an ideal spot in Washington DC for enjoying quality Indian dishes in a relaxed setting.

I am a huge lover of Indian food, and we felt like an Indian during our first night staying in Washington D.C. The restaurant is very cozy with a large outdoor seating area with cozy lights. The food was packed full of flavour, and definitely had some heat to it when you order it “spicy”. The chicken I had was tender and portion sizes were generous. It was a lovely meal! The decor is a bit kitsch, not very authentic. You have to scan a QR code to access the menu via your phone, and you pay (and tip) before ever interacting with any staff. Waiting time for the food wasn’t bad even though there were many diners eating in. You order alcoholic drinks at the bar yourself.

The food was simple, but only the masala paratha stood out. Rest of the dishes like rajma, baingan curry, and paneer curry were just okay. The place follows a self-service format where you order via QR code or at the counter, and food is served in takeout containers. There’s nice outdoor seating, but no table service. Given the setup, the prices felt a bit high, and the 20% service charge/gratuity added by default was surprising for a self-service model.
