Prepare to be completely surprised. Tucked away just off the main road, Indian Village Restaurant & Bar is the definition of a hidden culinary gem. Truthfully, I didn’t walk in with high expectations, but boy, did this place show up!

The kitchen here is producing food that is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish we tried burst with amazing, authentic flavor—it was clear that this isn’t just a meal, it’s a dedicated expression of Indian cuisine.

Paired with the stellar food was great, attentive service that made the entire experience seamless and welcoming.

If you’re willing to venture slightly off the beaten path, you will be richly rewarded. Indian Village is a must-visit spot that we can’t wait to return to. Go and discover your new favorite Indian restaurant!

What a great hidden gem in Waukesha! I’ve been to India many times and have eaten at Indian restaurants all over India and the United States. This one does not disappoint. Mainly North Indian Punjabi menu and done very well. Good service, good food and pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

Was looking forward to one of the lamb curries I ordered from this place based on the good reviews and the nice atmosphere of the restaurant when I went inside. I was very disappointed however. I’m not sure why they thought it was going to be good to basically confit the already fatty pieces of lamb in such an obnoxious amount of oil/ghee. Not only was it an oil slick… the spice profile was not balanced, and it was just a salty, greasy mess.

I went to Indian Village Restaurant on Tuesday and this is THE BEST Indian cuisine in Wisconsin! I’ve had my fair share too, but this by far was the most fresh and delicious location. I ordered the lamb saag 10/10 and fish pakora 100000/10!!! It’s even better than the sister location IVR Bar, which is a fusion take on Indian cuisine. If you’re looking for authenticity… got to Indian Village Restaurant in Waukesha. You won’t be disappointed!

Tonight was the second time we visited this restaurant and we strongly agree it is a hidden gem! We have been to a lot of Indian restaurants and the taste of the tikka masala is superb with a generous portion. The aloo tikki is deliciously crunchy and flavorful! We left very full with a few naan leftover. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. He even went out of his way to accommodate some special requests. We will definitely be back!

Inside is very nice and clean, with nice decor. They have a full bar and their lemon drop martini was very good.

For an appetizer we got the samosa, which were good and I was a big fan of the chutney that comes with it.

For dinner we got the Butter Paneer and Dal Padka. Good portion sizes for the price, very filling, and really nice deep rich flavors without being too over spiced with things like cumin or chilis.

I look forward to coming back and trying their Lamb Vindaloo!

The building, previously a burger joint, has been nicely redecorated inside and out. The atmosphere is relaxed, cozy and the ambient music is the perfect volume to still converse with those around you. The waitstaff were attentive and courteous. The food was beautifully presented. It was also delicious and the portions were generous. This is a great spot for Indian food on the southside of Waukesha.

We found this gem a few months ago and I noticed something last night. Every customer leaves with an empty plate. They’ve either eaten it all or they have a to-go box. Nobody leaves food behind. How often do you see that? I’ve never had the same thing twice and it’s all DELICIOUS. The staff is always wonderfully friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is casual; it’s an absolute gem of a find.

My first time trying Indian Food in the area. I travel to Milwaukee a lot and decided to give this place a try.
I was very surprised at how good the food was here. I started with the Samosa. They are an order of two but pretty large and filled with a lot of filling that is seasoned very well. They were fried to perfection, not greasy and served hot. The green sauce that comes with it was my favorite, the spice level was spot on as well as the mild heat. The other sauce was more sweet but still good.
The Chicken Tikka Masala was great. The flavors were so good and the chicken was fork tender and melted when I ate it. Using the Garlic Naan Bread and rice to scoop up all the goodness, made this a memorable meal that I can’t wait to get back to.
The only negative to this restaurant was the service. The server ahead was not very attentive and didn’t come around hardly at all. I had to wait almost 15 minutes I was able to flag down a waitress that was waiting other tables to get my ticket for me so I could leave.
Other than that , I can’t wait to get back to this place.
