FABULOUS FOOD-
Waitress stopped over incessantly asking how we were doing, almost always interrupting a meaningful conversation. Another waiter kept stopping by with water. Leave a pitcher and minimize the stopping over if you want people to enjoy dinner!
Rice ala cart? Really? Should come with meal especially at those prices.

Delicious food. Excellent service. Beautiful ambience. My favorite dish is the Mint Chicken Curry with a side of the rice and herbal Nan bread alongside with the chopped onions and chili’s. 10/10

Food was tasty, flavorful and good portion. Staff was friendly enough.

BUT….
My companion only wanted to order the Tandoori Wings $18 and a rice pilaf $6, since they weren’t very hungry. The waiter informed us there would be a $15 dollar upcharge since they weren’t ordering a full entree. That would of made their share of the bill $39 dollars, which is more than any of the entrees. So they changed their mind and ordered an entree instead.

I would recommend this place for the food, but watch out for the shady $15 upcharge depending what you want to order. Highest “sharing upcharge” I’ve ever seen at any restaurant, anywhere!
Just makes me wonder what they would charge if you were sitting alone and only wanted wings and rice?

My wife and I visited Indian Kitchen recently. As soon as we were seated, a tall man approached the table. The following conversation ensued:
Tall man: Good evening. I must tell you that I do not allow guests to bring in drinks.
Wife: Even iced tea?
Tall man: We have iced tea.
Wife: But do you have decaffeinated iced tea, with stevia?
Tall man: No, but I still won’t allow it.
Me: Well, I guess we should dine elsewhere.
Tall man: Yes, you should. I think it’s rude to do that.

The tall man (who I believe to be the owner, given his repeated use of “I”) never smiled or apologized during our encounter. He acted as though he was personally offended that my wife had brought a tumbler of tea into his restaurant.

By the way, the restaurant’s web site says, “There are no kids’ menus available. We only accommodate guests over the age of 16. There are no high chairs & we do not have space for strollers.”

This is the first negative review I have ever written. The service was virtually nonexistent. The owner is unbelievably rude and almost seems to get pleasure from being that way. The food was way over seasoned even for Indian food, which is supposed to have a lot of flavor. I was up all night quite sick from the meal.I strongly recommend not going here.

BEST INDIAN FOOD IN THE VALLEY. Service is great, the atmosphere is calming and relaxing. Great beer selection. I would recommend Italian beer Menabrea, super smooth and delicious. We started with the samosas appetizer. They came out quick, and we’re super fresh and hot. Filled with flavor, the potatoes and peas were extremely tasty with a perfect cruch. Excellent portion for two people. We then shared rice pilaf, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, and garlic Naan bread. All I can say is WOW, each bite gets better and better. This establishment is definitely authentic, and spices are definitely fresh. The flavor profile on all the dishes was outta this world good!!! The owner is always nice and makes sure everyone is taken care of. Overall, this spot makes for a perfect night out.

Overall was not a bad experience but would not revisit this place even though the food and ambience was good. What caught us by surprise was – well highlighted “No Split Rule” / One Entree per person but failed get a good business rationale. Being a limited portion and size why limit customer experience while appetizers are being allowed to Split. It certainly discourages Dine-In for a couple whose appetite does not warrant ordering two Entree. Would love owner to share a good rational being a very unique exception & to enhance customer experience.

Our first visit to this well appointed, clean, and child free establishment, but won’t be our last! We were all very impressed with the deliciously, explosive flavors in the house recommended chicken appetizer we shared, followed by entrees with rich, blended, spiced sauces like I’ve never tasted before. Their long grain basmati rice is ala carte but easily shared by two. Having no unruly, screaming children was a delight for our table of four…and it is noted on their website and entrance.

Best Indian food in the Coachella Valley, with a variety of options to accommodate different dietary preferences. If you like lamb, I highly recommend trying the Lamb Mangalorean!

Ordered the pistachio gelato to go. The waiter packaged it well and portion size was good. Unfortunately it was icy and clearly freezer burnt. Don’t mind paying for quality product, but when something is pricy and quality not there, it is disappointing.
