Absolutely fantastic Indian food in the heart of Athens!
Indian Haveli delivers the perfect balance of authentic flavors, generous portions, and warm hospitality. The food tastes just like back home — rich, flavorful, and freshly prepared. Their butter chicken and garlic naan are spot on, and even small details like the spice level and presentation show real attention to quality.

The staff is extremely courteous and genuinely care about your experience. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and has a comforting vibe that makes you forget you’re miles away from India.

Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian cuisine while in Greece — this is easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Europe!

Indian Haveli is an absolute treasure! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and a beautifully decorated atmosphere that truly captures the essence of India. The ambiance is cozy yet elegant—perfect for a family dinner, date night, or even a celebratory gathering.

The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish is bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the biryani was fragrant and flavorful, and the naan was fresh, soft, and perfectly baked. You can genuinely taste the quality and care in every bite.

The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, which made the entire experience even better.

If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Indian cuisine with top-notch service and atmosphere, Indian Haveli is the place to go. I will definitely be returning!

Long Waits, Cold Naan, Missed the Mark

We ate at Indian Haveli in Athens and had a very mixed experience. Service was extremely slow—my mom ordered a dish that we were told would take 30 minutes, which was fine, but in the end her food arrived in about 15–20 minutes, while the rest of our meals didn’t come out for 40 minutes. By the time her plate was nearly finished, we were still waiting on our naan bread. And when it finally arrived, it wasn’t good and was already cool.

The chicken pakora was okay, though not as flavorful as versions I’ve had at other Indian restaurants. The mixed appetizer came with three sauces, but one had crushed mango seed in it—which I bit into, and it hurt my teeth. Definitely something the kitchen should be more careful with.

I also wish they’d ask how spicy you want your food. The dishes came out on the spicier side, and while I can handle heat, it was more than I would’ve preferred.

Overall, the food had some good elements, but with the slow service, uneven quality, and details like cold naan, I can only give this place 3 stars.

The mango lassi is too sweet and too thick.

The butter chicken tastes nowhere near what it should taste like, just look at the color. $10 for a pool of tomato liquid, couple measly pieces of chicken and no rice to eat it with is insane.

And why the hell is the garlic naan so thin? This place puts no effort into its food

The food was absolutely incredible and the service was warm and friendly. Everything was spotless. We’re from Germany and have tried many Indian restaurants, but this one in Athens truly stands out and will stay in our memory. As a big Bollywood fan, I also loved the Indian music and the beautiful décor—it all felt perfect and made us feel very comfortable. We’ll miss it a lot. And don’t leave without trying the naan bread—it’s a must!

The menu is extensive, with plenty of options across curries, rice dishes, and sides. The naan bread stood out, served warm, soft, and well-baked. However, the main dishes lacked depth and balance. The daal makhani felt flat and tasted predominantly of coriander seeds, without the expected richness and creaminess. The chicken biryani was surprisingly dry and contained very few pieces of chicken, while the accompanying raita tasted slightly off instead of being fresh and minty.
