Nice place, clean, friendly staff. I couldn’t eat food from Buffet so can’t rate food. Waiter said it wasn’t spicy. Sorry but 2 of us couldn’t eat anything from Buffet, but they still charged us 13.99 a plate. I did have a piece of bread. Came home and made a cho milkshake. I better stick to food I know.

The food is fabulous and the portions are large – enough for almost two meals. They really nail the spice level where you feel the heat but you can still taste all of the flavor. The service is also incredible and food comes out fast.

I will come back weekly to try something new here it is amazing I first time I tried them was Friday I got the chicken Tikka Masala I asked for spicy and it was. Today I went for lunch at a different Indian food place and I got the chicken vindaloo and garlic naan and it was nasty. So for dinner I decided to order from here again instead and tried the chicken Vindaloo and garlic naan and it was AMAZING!!! I asked for spicy and it was! The perfect spice that isn’t Hot it’s just spicy. Makes you sniffle and want more and more. The rice is as well. We also got the buttered chicken (chicken makhani) and oh my god my mouth was watering. I am obsessed now and I will keep coming back over and over again forever.

I didn’t expect the place to be good one looking at the rating, but it turned our to be good actually. I loved the food, felt like authentic indian dishes. Price is also very reasonable. Naan is very tasty! I would love to visit again.

We have been here multiple times the last 2 years and have never been disappointed. Food is always hot fresh and fast. The waiter and waitress is always helpful and kind. They have never steered us wrong in recommending different dishes to try either. We live north of Ames but make the hour drive just to come here. Thank you for our delicious dinners!!

Waiter really friendly, good variety of food choices, very few dishes to worry about with my nut allergy, lots of vegetarian options. Dishes a little smaller than other restaurants we’ve been too but definitely a good size for the meal itself.

Perhaps it was a slow night, I had to ask for plates and utensils after food was served on the table. Most pieces of a full order of tandoori chicken were burnt. Brought it to the server’s attention but to no avail. They didn’t even bother to offer another option… still acknowledged their cooking blunders.

Great Indian food! The buffet wasn’t open when I was there, but the lamb dishes were really good and chicken looked authentic as well. Would love to go back when the buffet is open. Not cheap for the quantity, but thf quality is good. Hot naan was fresh and buttered!

This is the 3rd time I have been to India star and it is fantastic. I ordered shrimp curry, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, mango lasi. Every dish was really good and the mago lasi was also really good. Staffs are nice and friendly, but keep in mind they only have one waiter so it will be a bit of a wait after you order.

I moved further west and have tried many Indian restaurants closer, but NOTHING has compared to Indian Star’s food! Absolutely delicious! I miss their buffet!
