Most Indian restaurants, for that matter most ethnic eateries tend to Americanize their cuisine so much that it is heavy on fats and creams.
The thing about India garden is they cook food just like back home in the splendor that I come from, India.
First visit to India garden was magical, their hospitality, the ambience of the place(you will forget that you are eating in the US of A. Quaint, simple and inviting.
I rarely review anything but I am compelled to by our great experience of dinner there.
We were a dozen who planned our dinner get together poorly and didn’t have enough time to relaxingly eat. But the family that runs the restaurant made us feel like family. We didn’t even feel like we were in a restaurant. Thank you Singhji, thank you the three generation that were running the business for that kind of service only Panjabis are capable of, especially the Sikhs are good at…
The young man, the grand parents, an uncle (possibly) were so totally involved in making us comfortable and enjoy the great food unlike in any restaurant… They stayed back beyond their business hours just so they could feed us despite our poor planning…
A hundred thanks to you Sardarji
May they be blessed…
Garlic naan was soft and just crispy enough for the teeth. Paneer mughalai kadai and Chicken mushroom masala did a good job too for the bread. Would rate the paneer one a notch higher. Jeera rice with the chicken mushroom masala worked better than against the naan.
Overall loved it.
I ordered the Goat Curry and Kheema Naan. I’d asked for a spicy curry – however it was not. It was decent at best and the meat was a bit rubbery. However, the Kheema Naan was awesome and flavorful.
Will definitely go back for seconds just for the Paratha.
