My partner and I had a great first experience at Imo’s
The owner/manager explained the menu and the unique style of cheese they use (St. Louis style thin crust pizza). The pizza was delicious and we got two lunch specials and a dessert to share for around $20-$30.
The only thing I didn’t enjoy was that they had styrofoam to-go cups. So, I just finished my drink dining in.
The atmosphere is nostalgic and family friendly, and they had a wall of photos with lots of history on it. You could tell they were proud of their authentic St. Louis style.

The pizza is good, but I would rate it higher as a separate dish, not pizza. The food was tasty and interesting, but be sure to grab a lot of napkins because the pizza grease will coat your fingers. There was 1-2 other customers there besides my group. The ordering TVs were mostly burnt in with age, also. The diner booth style was fun, but the fluorescent light in the bathroom made it a little creepy.

I was not a thin-crust fan until I tried Imo’s. The all-meat combo is loaded with meat and strips of bacon. The provel cheese gives it something extra special. If you haven’t tried it, I recommend you do.

Wish they offered dairy free cheese for their pizzas. A lot of other puzza places do now. Hubs likes their pizza. I can’t eat it because they don’t offer dairy free.

If you like imitation (velveeta-like) cheese on your pizza, you will like it. We did not care for it at all. It tastes like it is a canned tomato sauce/paste with no seasoning. We won’t be back.

Great food as always! Great staff as well! We even picked up a Gooey Butter cake to go. After living in Texas for the last 20 years we were glad to see they had IMOs in KC. Just as good as we remember.
