Very nice place for authentic Korean food!
A friend of mine was stationed in Korea for a few years, and he said this is the closest he’s found to the real thing. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the restaurant was very clean. Perfect spot for anyone craving genuine Korean flavors!

Ordered delivery around 11:30pm. Love that they’re open late! I hate being hungry at night and only having fast food options. I was skeptical to try this Korean spot only because I’ve had Kbbq at other places and was unimpressed. I ordered the Chop Chae and grilled beef! Both were very flavorful. The noodles in the Chop Chae had an excellent texture. The grilled beef was charred on the edges, flavorful, and tender. The dishes came with steamed rice and banchan. The banchan were delicious, especially the bean sprouts. I was extremely impressed with the quality of food, my only complaint is that one side dish, the fish cakes, had old peppers that smelled off. the fish cake itself was fine, it was definitely the pepper. Maybe an old one got used on accident. Besides that this restaurant is the best Korean restaurant I’ve had food from in San Antonio. Definitely would eat from here again.

Hard to enjoy your food when you look up and see what looks like mold looming above you in the vents, the water damage and paint peeling,
nothing wrong with the server, I cannot complain about him
Seafood pancake was greasy and unseasoned, while also having a floury starchy texture on the inside.
Beef Bulgogi, was bland, and was hot for about 3 minutes after it came to the table
Soon Du Bu (seafood soybean soup) was right along the lines of an instant ramen
Glass of Water (not pictured) had particulates at the bottom of the glass.
Hope I don’t get sick after spending a grand total of $62.23 for two entrees an app, and a Dr.Pepper

Visited Ilsong Garden a few weeks ago to have some Kimchi Jjigae and tea. The restaurant felt old school Korean and homely. The banchan was on an open bar and delicious. I especially enjoyed the fishcake, cucumber kimchi and the potato banchan. Staff was calm and efficient. Overall I enjoyed the meal a lot. Thank you

Very tasty Korean food. Place was nice with big screen TVs. I noticed several parishioners were Korean. We ordered and food came out in short time. They have extras if you want to add like kimchi for free. Everything was super delicious. Only one minor problem, my tea was never refreshed, other than that everything was great.

Wow bad. Not Korean food. I eat and cook Korean food frequently, so I’m fine with all kinds of versions of Korean food. I have a high tolerance for mediocre Korean food because I love it so much. This place is NOT Korean food, not even close to authentic.

We were the only ones in the restaurant at lunch time, which should’ve been a tip off.

I ordered the tteok-bokki 떡볶이 spicy rice cakes and 김치파전 kimchee pancake. The flavor of the rice cakes tasted like it was made with maple syrup, instead of red pepper paste and soy sauce. See photo. Weird taste, worse texture. Rice cakes must have been in a long term freezer and cooked from frozen. Low quality. Not fresh. Photo below.

The savory veggie pancake literally had those string hash browns in it. It was about an inch thick and saturated in oil. Very unusual flavors, for sure not made with Korean ingredients.

The side dishes 반찬 were not fresh, and not many options.
I left all the food there, didn’t even take a to go box, which is not like me. >.<

If I had known, I never would’ve wasted my time and money. Go anywhere else. Even if you go to the Korean market and buy those prepackaged frozen meals, it is better quality and tastes better than this.

I’m Korean and this is the best Korean restaurant I’ve ever been in San Antonio. I had cod fish soup and I felt like i’m in my hometown. My husband ordered spicy bulgogi and it was sooo good too. It was so authentic and spicy enough as well. I highly recommend to try some bulgogi and cod fish soup! If you are Korean, you will absolutely love the food here! I love the unlimited banchan too<3

My husband and I decided to dine here after our date night downtown because I felt like eating Asian food and this is one of the very few good sit-down restaurants that are open after 10p. We went with the AYCE bbq (it was the first day they started that dining option) and everything was so good!

We ordered and ate more food than the photos I posted. Their veggie pancake is a favorite of mine but the real MVP is the Spicy Rice Cake, I was expecting a small bowl but got a regular size dish and I was pleasantly surprised! So keep that in mind when ordering the apps/sides, they may be the regular size on the usual menu. And I love that you get unlimited banchan to serve yourself!

The only reason I gave 4 stars for service is due to the language barrier with our server that caused a little confusion when bringing out our meats, but all was well. The owner came by our table to show us how to use the dipping oil and seasonings together to dip our cooked beef brisket in and, wow, the red seasoning with oil was something different but oh so good! She would also come by to check how everything was.

All in all, there’s a reason we keep returning and now that they have added AYCE bbq to their menu options, we will be telling more friends and family about this place!

Husband and I had the AYCE KBBQ dinner on a Saturday night, they’re open until 1:30am!
AYCE includes appetizers, we ordered the fried dumplings, seafood pancake and spicy rice cakes. All the appetizers were served hot and tasted fresh! Best tteokbokki I’ve ever had! First time my husband has ever had tteokbokki and he liked it a lot! The fried dumplings were crispy and super flavorful! The seafood pancake had plenty of seafood inside and on top with a nice crispy bottom! They also have a self serve banchan station included with the meal. For our meats, we ordered the beef ribeye, beef bulgogi, la kalbi and spicy pork bulgogi. All the meats were well seasoned with generous portions! Our server was attentive and made sure we enjoyed our meal. We enjoyed our dinner and left full and happy. We will definitely be back soon!
